His AMBG is 59. His numbers have been crazy lately. Do you think it would be OK to give Phoenix his insulin? Yesterday morning, Phoenix jumped from 97 to 329 at +1.
Do You think I should give him some honey or high carb? I hate to throw his schedule off but I am concerned for his safety. I haven't fed or given anything. Someone please respond. Thank you

If you can monitor, please shoot. You know he often likes to nadir at AMPS and jump after food.

No need for HC or honey yet. Feed and get a +0.5 or +1 and if hasn't got his usual food bump, then we can think of using higher carbs.

I checked again at .50. Phoenix is up to 99. I am going to check again at + 1. You were correct. I expect his BG will be higher at the next test. I will let you know. Thank you for telling me to shoot.
Great! Feed him some more LC now so that there is an additional buffer at onset.

I just checked again at + 1 and his BG is 123. Phoenix always eats a large breakfast. He ate one and a half cups of cornish hen and chicken livers. I will try to feed him a small snack but after breakfast, he usually continues to rise until around +9. I will continue to monitor closely. Thank you so much for your help.

Phoenix is now at 152 at +2. So far, he hasn't had a huge food jump as he usually does. That is good. Maybe his insulin depot is beginning to build up. Thanks to all of you for your help.

When I first joined this forum, I didn't believe that you knew better than my vet. I would get angry and frustrated by the advice you gave me. Actually, you saved Phoenix's life. I can't thank all of you enough for your kindness and not giving up on me when I got upset. I hope all of you have a wonderful day. You deserve it.
