5/11. Do Daa. AMPS 309, +4 349, +7 431, PMPS 515....

1st Black All Year. NO idea what happened today, straight up the entire day. Maybe AM shot didn't take??
99% sure he had no Contraband food.....:(:blackeye:

Oh dear, Do Daa what is going on? You should see the look on my face. That's a weird cycle, and I can't see any reason for it. Even a little contraband might not explain it, I'm steering more to possible fur shot? It sure looks like it since he kept going up all day. Is he feeling okay otherwise? I'd try and catch a ketone test if you can. I'm sorry, that high number truly stinks :(, but hopefully he'll turn things around quickly.

Hi.

It wasn't a fur shot but he did seem to twitch a little while giving him the shot, like he didn't feel comfortable with it. He seems ok otherwise, he went outside today and has been acting normal. I don't know where that Black came from. He had his am food at preshot and didn't eat much at all today. Can a lack of food for most of the day drive up the BG numbers?

I'll get a ketone in the morning as he already went to the kitty box. :(

Ah ok, I wasn't sure if he decided to venture out of his usual area and maybe had a little snack at a friendly neighbor. Hope his appy is ok tonight, that is another thing I'd watch as well, and check for ketones tomorrow when you can. If his appy continues to be not his usual keep us posted :bighug:, I always try and watch out for you.

He isn't an outdoor cat per se, he's an indoor cat with a small part of the yard to wander in. He is very good at staying in that section, and rarely wanders off anywhere out of view. He's a smart guy.

I will keep everyone posted. I post a new thread every couple of days because usually there isn't anything going on every single day.

Thank you! :bighug:

Sounds good, Goose, was trying to rule out a few things - you know, since my shenanigan meter is busted I have to work things out the old fashioned way :). Just watch the appy and let's hope the numbers work themselves back on down, might just be one of those anomalies, then he'll be back to business.:bighug:

It is an oddity for him so I would be sure an watch him closely it be sure he eats and is acting normal. Please check urine ketones as soon as possible.

Although I haven’t seen it often on his SS and definitely not up to black, it could potentially be a high before a bounce breaking cycle. That can happen and it can go up into black.

I’m hoping it’s something minor like that and he’s fine.

Hi Marje!

We will watch him carefully, make sure his appetite is normal and we'll get a ketone check as soon as we can. I'd like to think it's just an anomaly and maybe as you mentioned a high before a bounce breaking cycle. Thank you! :)

SS Updated. 529 at +2, 468 at +3. 61 point drop in an hour, so in the right direction. We'll stay up until +4 for a reading. He did just eat some wet food and he was hungry.

390 @pmps +4.

Wonderful to see the numbers are coming back down, and hungry is good! Thanks for the update :cat:
