Thanks. Me too. He just did a huge dive.I hope Oliver slides down and flattens out soon.![]()

We have also been giving 9 lives pate, Wellness Core pate and purina Beyond pate. For variety. Bonito flakes for reward. They are all pate and I haven’t seen any relation to his wonky days snd what he has been fed. They free feed for the most part. Except of course two hours before AMPS and PMPS. If they empty their morning bowls, I do wait until the 2pm blood test to refill. Also notable is I am pretty much a drill sergeant when it comes to precise shot time and careful measurement. Thanks for any advice. He came down pretty good at +3.5. Oliver is a tough one to understand. So high and then nice blues. I see that you feed FF and Friskies pate. How much and how often? I cannot advise but something is going on here that is hard to understand. @Bandit's Mom Can you look at this kitty's spreadsheet. I don't think I have ever seen a cat go so high and then low in a matter of days. There must be something else going on here and your help would be appreciated.
Gosh, I wish I could suggest something. I am really hoping the experts will come on board. It might be that Oliver is getting too much food if he is free feeding (except for the two hours before AMPS and PMPS). Can I make a suggestion? Start a new post tomorrow morning. Attach today's thread to the new post and put a question mark in front of your post. Say something about your needing help with your boy. Like this: ?, 5/11, Oliver, Need help! Hopefully, you will get the experts on board and someone who really can help. The 9 lives pate look okay. Under 10% carbs. I didn't see the Purina Beyond listed on the food chart: CatFoodProteinFatCarbPhosphorusChart.pdf Some of the Wellness cores are not low carb. I don't know about the Bonita flakes. I think some of the food you are feeding him might be too high in carbs but I could be wrong. Check out the attached cat food link I gave you above and another link that I have found very helpful is the BalanceIt site: file:///C:/Users/Summernole/Desktop/Caloric%20Distribution%20Estimate.html. This site is great for taking information off the side of a can or bag and transferring it to see the total the carbs your kitty is actually getting. Thanks so much. I have a few who check in on me daily. I’ve had help from Bhooma, Elise, and Wendy on a pretty regular basis. Bonito flakes are dried fish, nothing more, and I have seen them recommended by Chris as an excellent reward/treat. I did check the Wellness Core pate somewhere, but I will double check. Thanks for the link to convert labels! I had not seen that before!!! Thanks again-ShelleyGosh, I wish I could suggest something. I am really hoping the experts will come on board. I can't read your attachment but I'm sure they are fine if you think they are. Good luck, Shelley. I'm so glad that others, who are so much more knowledgeable than me, are helping you.@Summer and Susie
Hi! Here are the Beyond cat food info. I only give him pate, so I think it’s fine duck and sweet potato is what we have now carbs=2

Dang Oliver, I had hoped you’d given up your cliff diving hobby.
My Charlie was a diver too, even on tiny doses of insulin. Sometimes you have a lightbulb moment and figure out a cause for the wild swings, but other times you can do the exact same thing two days in a row and get totally different results. Are you sure he isn’t stealing any dry food (or has a stash hidden in a secret drawer, lol)?
Do you shoot in the same location, such as the scruff, or do you switch it up? I’ve always used the scruff but have heard of some cats that might have different results depending on where shot.
Often the swings settle down over time. Let’s hope for that.
