Darcy's appetite has been poor again today. I have finally coaxed him to eat this afternoon with Pure Bites and Fancy Feast broths with tuna. He seems to feel pretty well. I just caught him playing with a puff ball (just batting it around a bit.) I then gave him a brand new Yeowww Catnip Banana that he doesn't have to share with anyone. He is enjoying it now.

Numbers okay. Nothing spectacular, but a pretty good blue streak. He's back in yellows but hopefully will be back in the blues soon.

Oh, and I weighed him yesterday. He's down to 14 lbs. That makes me sad. He doesn't look bad, but it is quite a reduction from 17.5 lbs. (now he was too large then, but I would like him at 15.5-16 lbs.)

I think Darcy and Minnie might be having a trans-continental mind meld about eating. They might not like being at the vet, but maybe they are not happy with the reduced amount of attention?!

I know his numbers are not what we are looking for, but his s/s today is my comfort place. Not too high to be scary, not too low or plungey to worry about hypos. Perhaps he is aiming to cooperate and head back to a nice round dose :). I wish you a hungry cat and a peaceful night!

PS Minnie says the darcines were delicious today, after refusing 5 other varieties of food.

Do you find he eats better after the sub-q fluids? My Simon, who had stage 4 kidney disease, seemed to eat better and feel better after the sub-q's. Did your vet have any idea why he is not eating well?

How much of Darcy's required calories do you think he's getting now? Did your vet suggest an ideal weight for him? I was surprised when my vet told me what she wanted Neko to be, it was higher than I thought.

Nanners (yellow bananas) rock! They are a long time favourite of sugar cats.

I think the vet just assumed that he would not eat because his BUN, Phos. and Creatinine were all elevated. I guess we will (maybe) find something out this week?

You know, I should ask what she thinks his ideal weight should be. I really have no idea. I just know I want him back where he was before! I don't even know how many calories are in this Royal Canin E food... I need to look it up. I've been trying to make sure that he eats a whole can every day at least. They are 5.1 oz.
