Third drop below 50 at PM +10 last night, so this morning he got a reduction to 8.5 U. I actually considered a BCS to drain the depot a little first, but decided against it. Looks like we're heading down the dosing scale for the third time.

Hi Lisa, the rule is 3 drops between 40 and 50 on 3 separate days (not cycles). Nevertheless, I think this reduction is going to hold

I'm confused. She did drop below 50 on May 5, 6, 7 and 8. Wouldn't that constitute a reduction?

But only three times at the (then) current dose of 9 U, after the skip on 5/6. I thought the rule (for long-term diabetics) was dropping below 50 in three cycles, which he did back to back on 5/7 and 5/ 8. But apparently I should have waited until he did it on one more day. Right now it looks like he's finally bouncing a bit from all the low numbers over the past few days. (It's not from the reduction; the old 9 U depot is definitely still in play.) I guess I'll just see what happens when he comes back down.

I'm confused. She did drop below 50 on May 5, 6, 7 and 8. Wouldn't that constitute a reduction?

May 5th drop was at 9.5U and he earned a reduction by dropping below 40. Even a single drop below 40 earns a reduction irrespective of whether the cat is newly diagnosed or a long term diabetic.

Thanks; fixed the typo! Definitely bouncing now, so he got a bit of R this evening to maybe slow it down a little.
