OK... have to decide what to do here. He's 60 at what should be AMPS, but DH gave him some 15% FF at +11.5 when he was at 50, so that number is food-influenced. He dropped to 37 at +10 (and spent much of the night in the 40s), so he's earned a reduction. My inclination is to test again in 30 min to see if he's rising, and if he is, go ahead and shoot either the new dose of 9 U or a moderate BCS (7 U, maybe?) to lower the depot a bit. Thoughts?

That was quite a cycle last night. Pretty much struggled to keep him over 50 for most of it. His depot does look quite full.

How are you feeling this morning and do you think you and he can take another cycle like that?

My husband took over midway through the night so I'm short on sleep but not awful. I have to be out of the house for an hour or two later today, but if I do a reduced shot he'll presumably be coming up by then. I'd prefer not to skip entirely because it seems to really throw him off for a while. I'm fine with shooting up to 2 hrs late, too; I can always work the time back later. But he's at 50 now at +12.5 (so one hour past his last food). I'll check him again in another 30 min.

He had a solid breakfast of his usual LC FF, and he's at 52 now. I'll check him again in 30 min just in case. Thanks for all the help!

I'm wondering if this might be the start of him coming back down the dosing ladder again. Guess we'll see what happens.

49 at +14.5... he really isn't interested in coming back up, apparently. I'll try a bit of LC first and check in 30 min.

It's a good thing you skipped! :woot:

49 and 52 are within meter variance. Not that you should take it lightly...

Yeah, a 49 doesn't freak me out any more. :) I'm just amazed that he isn't coming up at all yet. I'm assuming he will in a couple of hours, though. (If not, I really need to rethink what his new dose should be...)

Yeah, I thought he would come up soon as well. And you would be saved the feed and test routine this morning!

With that 37 he has earned a reduction to 9U but Wendy should be around later to help with dosing.

Took his own sweet time coming up, but he's at 99 now. I have a couple of things to do, so I'll check him again in about 3 hrs just to see where he stands heading into PMPS.

Morning data: +12 60, +12.5 50, +13 44 (SKIP), +13.5 52, +14 53, +14.5 49, +15 69, +16 70, +17 78, +18 99

And there we go... 315 at +21. Now I'm thinking ahead to PMPS. He stayed so low for so long that I wonder if he might actually need to drop lower than 9 U. But I have no way to gauge the dose, and we just drained the depot. So my leaning is to go ahead and stick to the plan and give 9 U tonight (maybe even with R if he's really bouncing?) and build back up. As the depot rebuilds he'll tell me if he needs less than 9.

OK... new reduced dose of 9 U onboard, plus 1 U of R, because holy cow, what a bounce! (I checked and it's about the same as the bounce he had the last time we had to skip back in February.)

That was just Oberon celebrating Cinco de Mayo last night with a lot of limes. :D:rolleyes: Hope you get some catch up sleep tonight. 9.0 was a good call. In the "would of, could of, should of" category, a test at +8 could have given you an opportunity for later cycle R. Next time.
