Hi ladies. Fa is not eating much today. Yesterday was as usual but this morning after he ate some breakfast, he vomited. Sometimes she does vomit maybe eating too much her hair. But today after that, she does not seem to be interested in food. I left food out for her but she is not eating. I gave her her favourite sardine she only ate a tiny bit and then vomited again.

The vet who knows her well is not at work these few days. Fa hates travelling but I like to know when I should bring her to vet if she continues like this. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Do you have any cerenia or ondansetron at home you could give her?
Is she sniffing the food then walking away?
Are you able to ring the vet and ask for some antinausea meds today if you don’t have any?

I know Perth and parts of WA is in lockdown at the moment. Are you affected? Am just wondering if you have access to the vet this weekend. I would try and do it today rather than tomorrow being ANZAC Day...it might be even harder.

I don’t have any meds at home. We just boiled some chicken breast and she ate them, so we will wait another day to see. Tomorrow the vet will still open for a few hours, so if she does not turn better, I will contact the vet again.

Fa had nausea last time and she would sniff and walk away, but this time she just seems not interested. She did eat some sardine and compared to last time, she would sniff and walked away. Luckily she ate the boiled chicken breast just now and did not vomit after. She is now sleeping resting i think.

Yes Perth needs to lock down for 3 days but vet remains open for the weekend. The only thing i worry is that other vet might want to see her before giving her any medication and i do not want her to travel unnecessarily, but if it needs be, we will surely do that tomorrow Sunday.

I’m glad she is eating something and keeping it down.
If you have ketones test strips , might be an idea just to check those to eliminate any issues there.

Oh i do have ketone strips at home and i will test it. Good reminder as she has high BG last few days and we just increased insulin from last night. Seems better BG today.

Other than the boiled chicken Fa ate this morning, she ate a bit more this afternoon and then a bit more for dinner.

Compared to what she usually eats, I think today is just 1/4 of usual. She sleeps most of today, sometimes awake but mainly resting on bed.

Not sure if I should bring her to vet tomorrow Sunday. I am getting more concerned.

If you can get into the vet, it might not be a bad idea to have her checked over. Sometimes they'll feel unwell for a day, but if it lasts longer, I'd get her checked out.

Today she is eating more and I am a bit relieved. She seems to have slept enough and now she is awake.

Will see how it goes . Vet opens for 2.5 hours only today. If she will continue to eat, even not as much , I hope it’s ok?

by the way, the vomits yesterday might have come from eating kangaroo in the early morning. She does do this very easily if kangaroo is the first meal.

Overall appetite is not as good as usual .
