4/15, Susie, 106 @ +1 (pm), New Concern See post #20

I don't give dosing advice, I'm just here to muse about it:joyful:. You haven't seen a green nadir in almost nine cycles. If Susie were my cat I'd increase tomorrow unless you happen to see green today or tonight. But see what those with more experience think.
Have a great day, Summer.
Thanks, I appreciate your "musing". I'm sure I will get the go-ahead. She is so high this morning I doubt she will come down much today but I could be wrong.

I mused on this one yesterday and said I thought it looked like she was due for an increase (not official dosing advice). :-) I hope your morning went well and you found Susie well and happy when you got home (and that she'd come down some!!)

She did come down to 233 at nadir. Not much of a nadir. Susie has been a little lethargic today. She is probably tired of the high glucose. Will do the increase tomorrow. Thanks for your "muse" too.

New Question: like some others on this site, I struggle with math. I will need to readjust my calipers for the 2.5 units. So if I have this measurement for 2 units (2.5 mm) and this measurement for 0.5 units (0.63) then I should set Susie up for 3.13 mm on the caliper for the 2.50 unit dose of insulin on the UltiCare RS syringes - right? I would appreciate acknowledgement of this number before tomorrow morning and thanks.

She did come down to 188 at +9 so will continue to watch her numbers tonight.

Thank you for your support, Pamela. How is Am doing? I can't believe what you and your kitty are dealing with and the expenses you are dealing with. I would be happy to make a small contribution to her care if it will help at all. We need to stick together.
OH!!!!! That is very kind of you Amethyst and I would not be able to do any of this without all of your help and everyone else here I will PM you with Amethysts' story:cat::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:.

You just multiply your dose with your conversion number. For UltiCare it is 1.25.

So to get the convesion for units to mm, you multiply your dose with 1.25 to get the dose in mm.

So for 2.5u it is 2.5x1.25 = 3.125mm

or 3.13 rounded so you math is correct :bookworm:

Thank you. Nice to know I was pretty accurate. Thanks, Mariette. By the way, congrats on getting your Buddy into remission. That is a testiment to you, and your care for this kitty Mariette!

Aww thank for saying that Summer. Buddy deserves most of the credit. He had to endure so much poking and prodding and he was a trooper. :cat:
He has a story too, doesn't he? Isn't he a feral? That is why I am so amazed that you took the time to take care of this feral and to get him into remission. He is blessed to have you taking care of him.

Oooo she's a sly one! Maybe she really is a long bouncer. I personally would see how tonight goes.

I know the numbers are scary when they come this fast, but you've got momentum going now and don't want to lose it. I'm a little more on the "ballsy" side with increases so I'll let the others chime in lol

Mornings on the forum tend to be slower so you might want to get a +10 and +11 so you have time to ask for help

Edit: by the way, this is what people on the forum mean when they say taking advantage of overlaps. Her previous dose hasn't fully worn off yet, so it gives you a chance to grab hold of some lower numbers and hopefully keep them

If she's still dropping at +2 (like 90 or lower) I'd be tempted to feed 1-2 tsp MC to help slow her down. When was the last time she ate?

Susie is dropping. From 188 at +9 to 106 at +1 (pm). Am I still to increase the dose tomorrow? Of course I will monitor her but this is once again a surprise.

What's she doing now? What time did you shoot, Summer. We're on the same time zone, so I was just wondering (and looking at your sheet). Personally, if you're uncomfortable with the numbers, go ahead and feed her some med-carb food and check and see what happens. Blues are good and she's in the blue and if you want to keep her there this evening, there's nothing wrong with that. Susie is full of surprises!

I see the +2 and notes, steady which is good! I'd lean towards no more food til you see where she's at with a +4, just in case she gets a little wild and you need her hungry.

Yes...you are correct and I appreciate @Mariette also helping out.

Yes, she is full of surprises. When you posted this she was already coming up.

Oh wow! She's gone up. What did you feed her? Or did you feed her?

I fed her 1 can of FF chicken at PMPS and then 1/2 can of FF turkey at +2 and I left another 1/2 can for +7.
