Question about Prozinc. My vet has my cat on one shot a day of Prozinc. Does anyone else give their cat just one shot of insulin a day?
No, any insulin for cats does not work for the full 24 hours. Cats need 2 doses of insulin a day, because of their faster metabolisms. Dogs can do well on only 1 dose of insulin a day. But not cats. Are you home testing? You could see the BG levels going up and staying up if you were home testing.
Hi, I am about to start home testing. I was giving him 1 shot of 6 units in the morning and before that it was 5 units for the last month. I got some advice from a lady in a fb group to start doing 1 unit twice a day and I am going to start home testing this week.
