Today, sadly, Butters is back to imitating a throw pillow. Two consecutive days of playing was too much for this girl. She even wants to eat her snacks while laying down, which I admit I am facilitating for her:rolleyes:.

No, it's not better to do shaves, even in lower doses. Reductions are taken in .25u increments. Shaves are for cats who don't hold reductions well,
Or for caregivers who have a hard time giving reductions. :p
:joyful: :joyful::joyful:Where is the "mirror" emoji when you need one. I was pretty sure you meant me, though, having received an intervention in the past.

Surf safely, kitties:cat:

Your Butters is doing an amazing job. Can you tell me what the PB is for that you recently started. I have to ask, is she still Stage 2 CKD? God, that would scare me. I lost a cat to Stage 4 CKD two years ago but I caught it late. There might have been so much more I could have done to help my Simon if it had been found earlier. Does she still have seizures? I don't mean to be nosy but I want to understand what all these kitties are suffering from and if any of these additional aliments can be tied back to the diabetes.

Awwwww, what a sweet girl...and living in the lap of luxury too :) Lyla you're a sweet mama to take food to HRH while she rests atop the throne..ah, I mean atop the bed...or wherever...

(HRH = Her Royal Highness)...

Nice numbers for your efforts...

Happy Easter!!

I was secretly hoping you might come through:bighug:lol.
believe this was your second intervention?
But who's counting, right? Oh wait. You are. You're counting. :p lolol.
Sign me up for eating in bed and having dishes brought and fro ❤️
I'm for breakfast in bed.
Sign me up, too! I'm exhausted from waiting on her hand and foot. When does she start waiting on me, exactly? Does she ever?
The Good Place
Excellent show! I second the recommendation wholeheartedly. Butters, however, actually would rather just stare down at the floor than watch TV:confused:.
That orange spot is soooooo kissable.
And I am kissing it constantly. lol. She doesn't seem to mind.

Wherever...exactly. Wherever she is. I come to her. Today happened to be the bed.

You're not being nosy. It's okay to ask these questions.

Her vet wanted me to try a probiotic because she started scratching at her ears and mouth a lot lately, and also because she has some tummy troubles. She had a constipation episode not too long ago. She also seems to get a painful, bloated tummy sometimes, and she burps. So he wanted to see if it would help with these things. I read about a strain that has proven to be supportive in people with CKD, so I bought a probiotic that contained that strain, as it can supposedly help cats with CKD as well.

As far as I know, yes, she is still Stage 2 CKD. Her last set of labs were done in January.

Yes, she still has the occasional seizure. She had one two weeks ago, I think. And the one before that was in December. The one before that one (that I saw) was a couple of years before. So I'm hoping they are not becoming more frequent. But these are totally unrelated to her diabetes. They have been happening for years (but are infrequent).

She has had the heart murmur for years. The DCM is new from January 2021 but completely unrelated to the diabetes as far as the cardiologist was concerned.

She probably had pancreatitis episodes long before she had diabetes. Elise helped me figure that out and her current vet confirmed that and diagnosed her with chronic pancreatitis. I think if we're going to tie anything to the diabetes, it would be this.

Thank you for the thorough explanation. I am also worried about pancreatitis and will be very interested in seeing what Susie's latest lab results are. I should get them tomorrow. When my vet was doing an abdominal ultrasound back in early March he said he could not find her pancreas and I thought that was strange. Anyway, your Butters looks like the kind of kitty you just want to pick up and squeeze. So soft and sweet looking. I hope she gets to feeling better.
