Just wondering, I was on here before, had a 16 yr old cat with diabetes and got some great advice..took him completely off dry food and just gave him Fancy Feast pate., with 6 weeks of insulin, he was diabetes free (note, the diabetes developed when the vet gave him a steroid shot for another issue)...Salem ended up dying from cancer almost a year later but I've learned in the meantime about dry food/diets especially for male cats. I have a 3 yr old boy now (adopted in 2018), before I got him, his main diet was kibble, no canned foods. I give all my cats both and try to find a medium, better dry cat food. He does get constipated more than usual and licks himself alot (he's not long hair, but very short hair). I give him Rachel Rae Nutrish dry food (salmon w/brown rice recipe) and Sheba salmon perfect portions, he loves both. I've read that Hills and Blue or Wellness have better dry foods (I know they're more expensive which is fine), I want him to be healthy. He had a checkup a couple weeks ago & doc said he's looking good. Still I'd like to catch this earlier than later and also willing to remove dry completely from his diet. Looking for suggestions.. Thanks., Sheila
