Marcus has been in remission for over a year. Recently his numbers were high. I had 3 pens of lantus so I started him back (as you can see from the spreadsheet). One got bubbles, one was already opened and so I was using the third one. It did not seem to be making a difference so I took him back to the vet for a new prescription. I HAVE ENTERED HIS test results on the spread sheet. Can someone help me interpret them ? I have a call into the vet and I would like to be able to speak intelligently. She left a message with no reason for why he may have come out of remission. no excessive drinking/peeing. No other diabetic signs. I am concerned about platlet count. Her advise start him back on 1.0 unit and and bring him back for a curve. She was very insulting and insinuated that Marcus went to long being unmonitored and would only write a prescription for 1 pen of lantus. I believe there could be something else going on (I asked about his teeth and she said they had tarter but no disease). I am completely at a loss. He is back on FF naturals, I am getting back in the routine of 7am and 7pm shot times and spot checks at +4 or +6 PLEASE HELP!

I looked at the labs and don't see any indication of any infection. I do see he has stage 2 kidney disease though so I recommend getting off the fancy feast and onto something with lower phosphorus. I fed my diabetic ckd cat weruva foods. They have a lot of low carb low phosphorus options. I see his bg numbers were becoming elevated even in January.

Since you are following tr dosing protocols you are overdue for a dose increase.

Sorry he's out of remission. My cat was in remission for a year when she came out. It was a total bummer.

I wouldn't worry about the platelet count. He's not anywhere close to anemic. My cats platelet were usually reading under 200 on Bloodwork
