Hello My WyGuy seems to have stable AMPS and PMPS numbers but I feel like he/we could do better. (more greens and blues possibly) And, he's losing weight again which is concerning to me. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!

It looks like he could use a dose increase, but need a few mid-cycle tests (+2 to +6) to know for sure. Vetsulin dose is based on nadir, and right now you only have one recent day's nadir data.

Do you let him eat as much food as he wants? Is he eating ok?

I agree on the dose increase but wanted to do a curve this Saturday (tomorrow) when I will be home all day just to confirm. (After a fructosomine test at the vet 2 weeks after he was diagnosed they wanted to increase him to 3u but I only went up to 2.25 and he seems to do well there, so maybe that's his "magic" number.)

Yes he eats well and eats as much as he wants! I think he's not getting enough insulin.

@FrostD and @JanetNJ could you please review again, based on the Saturday numbers we bumped up to 2.25U, and now we are getting higher BGs, should I ride it out a few days to see if he adjusts, is he bouncing? I'm concerned. Thank you!

Could be a bounce. While I don't think he's goi G too low he might be going lower than he's used to. Give it some time.

Can you get a mid day test? if not, try to get a before bed test each night... we want to see how low he's going.

Unfortunately, a mid day test during the work week is not possible, I will start doing a bedtime test each night. Also thinking of going back to 1U and starting over since he went right to 2U per the vet. I just want to do what is best for him.

I don't think you need to go back to 1... there's no indication he's going to low. I think the dose was held a little long at 2 and he probably built up a bit of resistance. @Chris & China (GA) what do you think?

okay I will stick at the 2.25U for now, do more bed time testing, and maybe do a curve not this weekend but next.

without more testing, it's really impossible to know what's going on. We've seen cats that could go from 400 to 40 and back to 400 in one cycle. Without catching the 40, you might think the cat needed more insulin when in fact, they needed less.

Please get at least 1-2 tests on the PM cycle since you can't get tests on the AM cycle and then on your days off, do a curve (test every 2 hours for 12 hours or every 3 hours for 18 hours)

I'd try to get curves this weekend so we can get a better idea of what might be going on.
