Hi again

Malkis new and improved chart should be in the signature.
Gave her newly reduced dose of 0.75U this morning after earning a reduction after a 47 reading on 3/20

This mornings AMPS was 238 (which is pretty good for her, much better than a lot of her historical AMPS values)
+1 214, +2 133, +3 104 current reading is 68 @ +3.75, Ill update the chart and subject line when I get a +4

EDIT +4 is 52

My worry is her normal nadir is at +6 and the rate of drop was super fast and we are already at 68 (I have cross checked with the ear prick and it says 90, which is a higher number but still low for this point of the day)

She did have a hectic burst of the zoomies at +1.5ish this morning running everywhere and doing huge leaps over the bed and onto the windowsill, climbed the front screen door at +3 because she saw a bird, and is currently "hunting" a gecko thats outside (shes inside). So shes definitely not showing signs of any lethargy yet. The biggest drop was between +1 and +2, would the aerobics session have made it drop like that?

She had breakfast at just after AMPS, it is now +3.75 and shes still got a few bits of the can left but has eaten most of it (fancy feast tender beef pate), Ive put out her raw snacks like I normally do at +3.

Just seeking the brains trust on why a drop this steep is happening as I thought her eating from after the shot to now would "feed the curve" and stop it dropping so fast?

This isn’t too fast a drop. Feed her a little more lc now and test in an hour. Feeding the curve means you feed a little with each test where there is a drop or if you want to keep them from dropping more. So far it’s a good cycle. The depot from 1.0 is in play.

Ok phew thank you so much for the reassurance. I'm so frazzled at the moment every tiny thing is freaking me out. Sorry to constantly post worries in here! Hopefully as more time goes by I'll be able to recognise whats what without having to cross check every minute detail haha

We all were new at one time. We understand. I kept looking for a post from you at your preshot time but didn’t see one.

Yes it was over 200 so I felt comfortable enough to go with the agreed upon .75U

Just went to feed her and she's already eating the last bits of her leftover can but I'll see if she wants some of the higher carb stuff (just gave her some and shes drinking all the 'sauce' off it at the moment). My problem with this is, what happens when I have to go back to the office? I'm really stretching my work relationship at the moment working from home (theres no covid restrictions or anything here so I'm just home for Malki). Im concerned at how I'll be able to manage this :(

Im on a conference call while this is all happening too haha

+ 4.5 is 82, +4.75 is 95
She finished the sauce off her meal straight away at +4.25, but has left the meats but it looks like its stopped bottoming out. Ill see what direction it goes as we get closer to +6

Was the 90 a half hour later? You can put 2 tears in the same box. 52@3.5 90@+4

The values I put in the boxes underneath are the Accucheck values. I cross check her freestyle libre with the ear prick one. She has 3 days left of wearing the monitor then we move to Accu Check only. I edited to add a reference in the remarks section, sorry still getting used to where to write things

Ok. Thanks for explaining. Is she good about testing? Do you give a treat each time? I expected Max to be difficult but he was easy.

Malki's dad was a cat from a feral colony and her mum was an outdoor 'sometimes' cat. That is, her mums owners didn't exactly own her but she practically lived there. So Malki is all muscle and fury in a tiny runt package, she was rejected at a very young age because she was a runt (she was the size of a mac mouse!). I took her in at 12 weeks.
She doesnt do the 'floppy' thing cats normally do when you pick them up haha, its all muscle like a wild cat, it feels more like picking up a little terrier dog.

She HATES the libre sensor, hence her little cape in the photo. She chewed skin off her butt with the first one, so we moved the next one higher. She chewed that entire monitor off (like pierced the plastic and everything) after a few days so we moved the next one to the back of her neck where it is now. But she has to wear the Cape of Shame because she chewed two big patches of skin off on either side trying to reach it. Like fur and all right down to the exposed skin. So we've decided to move to just ear pricks.
Its hit and miss with her but we have 3 levels of bribes to get her to sit still. I crumble a dried liver treat into tiny bits and sprinkle on the floor and while shes rushing to get them all I sneak the ear prick in. If that doesnt work I have Meat Mates freeze dried snacks, and if that doesnt work I take out the big guns which is her Prescription Diabetic Dry. I no longer feed it to her as a meal, and who knows whats in it, but she will literally RUN when she hears me shake the bribery box of them haha

Please see Malkis spreadsheet.
Her reader was showing 40 / LO at +6 so I cross checked with the ear prick which is saying 106.
I checked myself and husband and we got 100 and 118 but then I realised I don't know what that means. It's currently +6 PM here, midnight

Libre then threw a specific error code (it does this when the glucose level is changing fast) is now showing 88.
Did I miss a hypo that she bounced back from on her own?

Just saw this. I wonder why the Libre always shows an unusual dip at +6. Maybe you can get a test at +5 and +6 with the Accuchek for a couple of cycles to see what's going on.

The 40 looks like an error to me. Why do you use the Libre rather than a meter?

Just tried to get another reading with the accucheck. But the only blood I've got is my own. She's mad at me now I've got a slashed up hand.
Do I try and get another accucheck reading at +7 or do you think she won't drop any further

All the readings at +6am have an accucheck reading in the spot below them. There's a +6pm accucheck reading from tonight and last night as well in the space below the libre reading. The libre runs out in 3 days and I won't be replacing it I think it is losing accuracy as it nears expiry.

Just to be safe I would get a +7. I’m glad it’s going to be removed. It didn’t even exist when Max was diabetic. Even if you can’t get blood always give a special treat after you poke so she associates pokes with treats. Anything 100% protein.

I’ve been told by the mods that the readers are often not accurate when low and to check with a human meter when this happens. You can cross check on yourselves with the human meter.
I did a cross on myself and husband and got 100 and 118 but I don't know if that's an accurate figure, I don't know what mine is meant to be.

Ok that's 10 mins away. Yes always give her a treat no matter what, but she's really fed up with me tonight and hubby "got faint" after I checked his blood sugar so he's gone to bed so it's just me haha. Might go strangle him after I get this +7 reading

An interesting development for anyone who was curious about the libre performance! I got into the actual raw data files for the glucose reports (like the csv export not the nice pretty report) and found that the actual numbers ARE accurate, and for some reason the READER was showing it wrong! So I have updated the figures on the chart, its only a 20-30 point (1-2 point in my format) difference which is FAR more accurate than the numbers the reader was throwing me last night. Obviously still not reliable for hypo's which is why I was doing the ear clicks but the libre is more to follow the curves or trends apparently. Either way, its coming off on Thursday and wont be replaced. It worked great to discover where her nadirs are and where and how she spikes but other than that its more stress than help! Also apologies for the brevity of the posts last night, between the bleeding hand, possible hypo, severe lack of sleep etc I was like Gollum hahaha
