Yesterday.
Morning all. Mia is determined that I need to be awake at night at least every two hours! But have caught up on sleep this morning between checks.

AMPS 148, Ate 1/2 can LC FF
82 @ +4.
Happy with the day so far.

Question about shooting a low number when I am not home to monitor. As I head back to school, I realize that while I am willing to shoot low, I have anxiety about needing to test every hour just to see...

I won't be able to do that tomorrow.
Just wanted to have a plan in place for the morning about what I am comfortable shooting and what would be terrifying to leave the house. Given how she tends to drop at +3, I don't feel comfortable shooting a green. So looking for Advice. I can test at +3, but I can not stay home. I can then come home and test at +4.5. This feels like a critical time if she is going low.

On a positive note- Mia is PLAYING. Not something I've seen her do since bringing her home. She loves to bat mice around the floor! Happy to see her feeling active! Added bonus- the kitten is willingly EATING LC wet food! The transition may be beginning!

Thanks all!

Do you have an auto feeder?

No. And I cannot afford one right now.

The schedule can be:

AMPS- feed breakfast
+1: test & could feed again
+3: test & home to feed
+4.5: test & home to feed until +5.25
+7.5:
can leave work and be home for day/evening to monitor.

My dependable neighbour has appoints for the next two mornings, so can't drop by to feed.

That schedule sounds very doable to me. You can increase the carbs at any test if the bg is falling.

Thank you. Just spoke with my mom and she is on standby to be my auto feeder. :p She is not yet comfortable testing, but Mia is easy so I could teach her for Tuesday.

You are doing great and so is Mia! :D What do you teach?

Thanks!

Special Education, for grades primary - 6. (4-11 year olds). Love it, but IF there is an emergency at school, it would be hard to get home. Things have been pretty smooth at school this year despite the pandemic. :)

ETA: I'm thinking Mia will be someone who can come off the juice, and I don't want to interupt our 'flow'!

I’m a retired elementary teacher and coordinator. I would never have been able to get home all day long so you are lucky that you are close and have enough time. :bighug::bighug:

I also think remission will happen and sooner than later. Anti-jinx.

I am VERY lucky at my current school. Small, great staff.

If someone has a chance to look at my day today, I am happy with the numbers and this is what I should look for? I used to feed Mia ALOT more when she was unregulated and ravenous. I am aiming for 3 cans LC FF a day which should be enough calories. She has put on weight since I got her. Good feeding schedule to aim for. I will feed again at PMPS and a meal before bed. If she is low, I schedule a night check and feed.

Thanks
