I've gone ahead and increased his dose to 1.5U. We can monitor today and tomorrow he goes to his new home. He'll be stressed with tomorrow and 1.5 is easier to measure than 1.25 for his new owners.

Only 28 more hours until Pookie goes to his forever home! How exciting for everyone!

We'll be sad to see him go, but he's going to the best owners possible and we'll be focused on foster kittens which is a first for us (we usually get the older ones).

Some photos of him with our current cat, Chinou. Chinou is 16 and just naturally petite. He snuck up on her while she was sleeping (she sleeps soundly enough that we sometimes check her breathing) and kept rolling around until he eventually was able to sleep touching her. Kyle and Dalton have a cat that is desperate for affection from another cat and has a similar personality to Pookie so it's a great match.

Change in plans. Diabetes supply package is arriving today so Kyle and Dalton will be getting Pookie today! I've asked them to practice on themselves drawing blood with the Bravo meter so that they know how much blood they need and I've also asked them to play with a syringe and water to see how much 1.5U looks like. I've also asked them to post a photo or two of what they think 1.5U is.

Spreadsheet is now shared.

Very exciting!

Such amazing news! Who is giving tonight's shot? You or @Pooky kyle/Dalton ?
Such adorable photos. lol Pookie looks like a very chill cat. Chinou is soooo tiny and cute!
Looking forward to seeing a condo from Kyle or Dalton tomorrow, hopefully:joyful:. Best of luck to you with the foster kittens. Thank you for being such an awesome foster to all of these kitties. They are so lucky to have you taking care of them.

So exciting!!! You'll be great! The learning curve can be steep at first, but it definitely gets easier. Be patient with yourselves and ask as many questions as you need to! We will help you.

May I ask that you do a couple of things: Read this post if you haven't already, please: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/new-how-you-can-help-us-help-you.216696/
At the bottom, it explains how to set up a signature. Can you please set one up? We all have one that appears at the bottom of every post. And You can link Pooky's spreadsheet in there. Put the link to his SS at the beginning of the second line of your signature, just like mine and @Fog123 's. That just makes it so much easier to find in the event that we need to open it up to help you. And the sig in general has all the key bits of info...answers to a bunch of questions we would otherwise ask over and over again if the info isn't in there:joyful:. Thanks so much!:bighug:

We did one last test so the boys can see where he was just before he underwent the stress of a car ride. He's comfortably in the yellow at the moment.

We're leaving the house in a few minutes so that Pooky can get settled in his new home. While I admit to being a bit weepy suddenly, I'll use the words below as my mantra. Kyle and Dalton have promised to keep in touch so it's all good.

Wish us a poop free journey! Thanks so much everyone for your help - you've been a godsend.

I'll post photos of the kittens tomorrow.

That is a very fitting quote. Best of luck with the journey. I can't wait to see a photo of the kittens.
