Of course - hope you see some more blues on the new dose:bighug: And I always try to remember the board is public-facing so if someone makes a typo, it's in everyone's best interest IMHO to help clarify even if the clarification is not for yourself but perhaps for a person who doesn't post and is just reading the board for info :bighug:
 
Summer, sorry I was looking at yesterday's post and replying there. I did look at Susie's spreadsheet though and was looking at today's numbers (AMPS and +3) when I wished her more blues :) Later on I saw (and you said) more blues! So I stand by my comments that you are doing a great job and being very patient and the maybe the dose is settling in a bit. It will be interesting to see what she does with the small increase tomorrow.

I'm excited too, Suzanne. What is the Cabergoline that Darcy is on? I see she was on fluids, too. I pray it isn't kd. Sorry, I don't mean to be nosy so feel free not to answer if you would like.

Oh, that's okay. So far, his kidney values have all been very good. He has Acromegaly, that is what the Cabergoline is for. I hope it helps. I'm going to try to get him the stereotactic radiation treatment this summer if possible (it's expensive). Hopefully that would nuke the pituitary tumor and stop the excess growth hormone that it is producing.

The fluids that I was giving him were to flush out the ketones. He had, up until very recently, been producing quite a high level of ketones. Since he went into ketoacidosis last fall, I've been very worried about that. These high doses of insulin have at least brought the ketones down to a very low level, even if I haven't seen great glucose control yet.

First of all, I'm sorry I insulted Darcy with calling him a her. I thought your kitty was a male then I thought I better check and saw female when I clicked on his picture. That must have been for you. I'm so sorry about the Acromegaly. I have seen it with too many kitties on this site. I'm happy to see the ketones are down. You are struggling with your kitty and that just makes me more appreciative of your concern for mine. I like that you are now seeing more yellow numbers. It looks like you are seeing progress. Anyway, thanks for being concerned with my Susie when you are dealing with so much with Darcy. I have heard that radiation can help with the Acromegaly. I'm just sorry that the both of you have to go through this.

Oh, that's no problem. Yep, I'm the female around here. Mr. Darcy is all boy! He's a good boy! So easy to work with, never complains about taking medicine, or getting poked. The worst thing he ever does is to shake his head a little because he's too excited when I'm about to test him because he knows that he's going to be fed (either a meal or a treat.)
