03/15 MISSY PMPS 196, +2 202, +4 119, +5 99

Nice start:D! Surf it, Missy!
I think I'd go with the mix and see where she is at for +1. Looking back on Missy's ss, that has worked well for her in the past.
Have a great day, Tammy!

I need some help...
@Bandit's Mom
@tiffmaxee

Missy has had quite the active cycle this morning. I tried keeping her above 50 with HC. Unfortunately, was unsuccessful. I'm pretty concerned about a reduction as she was just starting to settle into this dose of .25
She is definitely not ready for no insulin in my opinion... but what do I know. Her BG when she had a fur shot one week ago was terrible.

Do you think she really needs this reduction? She also has history of ketones but no DKA.
Thanks for your help..

If she bounces high you could shoot through the bounce and take the reduction in the morning. Otherwise tonight. The new dose would be .10.

You know a lot. :bighug: Kitties ready for no insulin are pretty much solid green, no yellows allowed, much less higher blues. Hopefully she'll settle down on the 0.1 unit dose.

Probably time for another ketones test, just to put your mind at ease?

She's earned a reduction with the drop below 50, I would take it.

If you find the nadirs creeping up, after any bounce has cleared you can call a failed reduction and bring her back up. Hopefully that won't be necessary.

The high numbers you saw with the FS last week look like they were due to a bounce rather than the FS.
He went up to pink at +1, when we do a one time reduced dose because the ps is lower than normal and we can't monitor the first half of the cycle, because of the depot, will often not be affected, instead you see the effect of the reduction at the end of the cycle.
The same will be true of s partial FS

Hi Wendy..
Thank you for your input.. I value everyones opinion on here a lot. I hope she will settle with this new dose as well and I will grab a ketones test tonight. :bighug::bighug:

Great info, I will need to read this over a few times to understand it all. Thank you for explaining! I will make note of her NADIR in the coming cycles. Hopefully this new dosage will be perfect for her. :bighug::bighug:
