Darcy started out the day with a high AMPS. He did not want to eat. When Darcy does not want to eat, something is wrong. I coaxed him to eat a Tiki Stik since I'd already given him insulin. I took him to the vet. In the past, anytime he does not want to eat, his white count is high. Yes, we did a CBC and his white count was high -- neutrophils high and monos high. Went home with Baytril. This seems to happen with him from time to time. I jump right on it immediately. I used morning R and mid-cycle R today and finally got a yellow. Will be doing PMPS in 30 minutes. Will not be home for a few hours this evening so won't be giving evening R.

I hope everyone else's kitties have had wonderful kitty days today.... or are waking up to good mornings!

Poor Mr. Darcy. It's definitely high alert when our acros don't eat. :bighug: How are his ketones? The vet have a thought why the white count is high?

Yesterday ketones were 0.2 so they should still be okay, especially since he ate well yesterday and his appetite is picking up as the day goes on. Just got a 271 so I think I can go out for a couple of hours.

Wow!!!!!!

Ollie's cabergoline started kicking in Day 10 but she wasn't as high in dose as Darcy. Will be interesting to see what happens with Darcy.

Not too bad, so far. His +4 was 310. I'm relieved he didn't jump to the 400s. I hope I won't have sabotaged him because I did give him a little food to eat. He needed to take his 2nd Baytril of the day and I wanted him to have it with food. Plus he was a little down on the normal amount of food that he should have eaten since his appetite was so poor this morning/early afternoon.

Congrats on some good numbers! It’s always exciting when you see an unexpected low number! I got to give Howie a reduction tonight as he was down to 65. So he went from 53u to 48u!
Hoorah for Howie! That’s so awesome... especially after he had kind of gone up in his units. Go, Howie, go!!

I don’t know if I answered this about the white count. I don’t think we have a clue. How we would find out without doing a bunch of diagnostics, I don’t know. He did have a bad tooth that we got removed last fall. I believe the remaining teeth are okay. He doesn’t have that many left. I’m going to recheck it in about three weeks.
