Just started testing but my cat ears look like she was a fight. Will the ears look like this has testing continue?
Good for you for testing! It's a wonderful thing you are doing for your cat to keep monitoring. It gets easier over time, and the ears start to bleed easier over time. Are you using something maybe a warm rice sock to warm the ear up first?
And don't worry, ears will start to look better in no time.

Thanks for your help. I do use the sock. I started with Freestyle meter big mistake the meter would not read every time so i had to prick her more. I went and bought a Relion meter its like night and day difference.Good for you for testing! It's a wonderful thing you are doing for your cat to keep monitoring. My cat's ears were very scabby when I first started testing her. I was freehanding the lancet and she flicked her ear every single time I tried to poke which produced a scratch instead of a prick. I was so worried that I was hurting her and she ran from me every time she knew what was coming. I finally bought a lancing device with a clear cap from Amazon and learned how to use that and we don't have scabby ears anymore! Warming the ear with a sock is a MUST to get the blood flow to the ears and the ears will bleed more easily as time goes on. Once you have the technique down, you might want to think about getting at least one test in at night because a lot of cats go low then.
Here's a link to the lancing device that saved us! https://www.amazon.com/Care-Touch-Adjustable-Lancing-Device/dp/B078P4GWYL?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

I put a tiny dab of coconut oil on Furball's ears after testing when to help them heal.

A lot of us were using this but were advised that polymyxin is dangerous to cats if ingested - here's one post on it - https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/warning-about-neosporin.242195/ - this is why some of us have switched to coconut oil (that post has another alternative in it too I believe).triple antibiotic ointment
