Per above, my local boutique pet food stores carries all the H&G pates, and one would "think" from reading the labels, that they contain no carbs. I tried to calculate the count myself, and came up with some high numbers for this, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I emailed and left voicemail to ask H&G for the numbers, and no reply. When a company hides anything or in my professional world of journalism, doesn't respond, it makes me suspicious.
Anyone know the DMA carbs on these pates? I realize I did no favors for my previous diabetic cat because I did NOT calculate dry matter carbs, and went with Guaranteed Analysis, and I wish I could go back...
This is a pretty comprehensive article in the journal, Veterinary Sciences, from 2017. It actually says it might be OK to feed foods with carbs to diabetic cats, but not in this house: Not with HOPE.
Many thanks.
