15/2 Mauer AMPS 292, +2 169, +4 67, +4.5 68, +5 58, +5.5 63, +6 59, +6.5 76

Time for some higher carbs. Nadir is still a while away. Do you have anything in the 10-12% range? A teaspoon of that please.

Is this number after a spoon of LC every hour?

Not that I know of
I have Sheba with added sugar? But thats HC. Just fed her 5% carbs.
She's hungry though.

Stay away from dry food if at all possible. Mixing a little HC gravy into the LC is fine. You can also mix a little syrup into LC, which is what I do to get MC. As long as you record exactly what you fed and when, then you can adjust amounts to find the MC that works well for Mauer. I'm sure you could also buy some MC foods in Denmark, but I'm in Canada so I'm not going to be of much help with that.
Great job with the 30 minute testing!
Surf it, Mauer:D.

Good idea! Just put it in her ss! :D

What's up with this day? All those green kitty's!

Let's try and keep her at this dose as long as possible. She's seeing good numbers. If she dips below 50, reduction earned!

So meter variance doesn't apply here?
Does she need to dip with food?
If I weren't here she would have bottomed out by now...

LOL. Meter variance applies only when it suits us! :p

Yes, which is why I said we try to keep her at this dose for as long as we can. At some point no amount of feeding will prevent a reduction.

That sounds dangerous! :nailbiting:
I didn't feed at last test, so in 15 it's an hour since food.

Oh! Exciting cycle for Mauer! You are both doing great!

Listen to Bhooma. It is tru. I kept propping hercs last week giving him load of Hc, but eventually he dropped no matter what, and got his reduction ;)
The longer you can keep in low values the better the healing, and it might reduce the bouncing in the future...

And then what? How did you get him up?

she couldn't for the whole cycle. skipped the next shot. take a look at Hercs' SS :)
I followed the day it happened, but what I'm wondering is... if you can't get them back up, then what? Keep rubbing honey on their gums until the insulin depot has drained?
Seems unnecessary dangerous, or maybe I missed something?

Bhooma, how on earth did you learn this much so fast? You're four months further in than I am

You don't plan it that way. Insulin needs keep changing. Suddenly the pancreas wakes up and then all hell breaks loose. But till than happens, you have to work with the numbers you have. As long as you are monitoring, you can keep them safe. :-)

Pffftttt! It's a mirage. :p

My ADHD brain works seriously bad with things changing! I can't wrap my head around the fact that what's safe today, can be deadly tomorrow, and I hate it :banghead:

You must have a brain that gathers information like a sponge :D:p

I have ADD too, in fact. But I've been pretty OCD about Bandit's diagnosis. Have pissed off every vet in my area with my questions and looking unconvinced with their responses. LOL.

Is Mauer still eating LC-HC mix? When did she last eat? What would you say is the carb% of that mix?

I have ADD too, but most don't know what it is o_O OCD too, lol :D
Well....... you go girl!!!
In reality we don't need them for anything other than prescriptions, if everything goes well!

I have no clue really. 5% carb in the low carb, haven't done the calculations on the highcarb yet.

Whats the next step? Feed LC?
When did she last eat? She is rising a little now. So you can test in an hour without feeding and see if she stays up. She is close to her nadir anyway.

Calculate the HC%. It's not like you are doing anything besides watch Mauer and the clock! :p

Half hour ago. So feed LC now and wait an hour to test?

Omg. I'll do the dishes then look into the carbs. The package doesn't say anything so I need to Google it..

Just catching up on your exciting day! Yes lc and test in an hour.

It’s time to research mc foods. For now adding syrup or gravy to the lc will work. For some cats with IBD that’s all they use.

Yup. I know. If it's making you nervous, feed a teaspoon of LC :)
No, let's see where it takes us.

I was actually convinced the old foods I had were MC, but they weren't...

I want zero calorie chocolates.

I will be surprised if she dips below 50 now. Depends on what % of carbs your LC-HC mix was. But still, doubtful.
And now that I have put that in writing, she will do her damnedest to prove me wrong! :banghead:
Yeah, that's my girl! :D:p

I want that chocolate too. And butter. And cheese! All healthy stuff

You are making me hungry and I can’t eat for another 4 hours.

Wait until you need to draw up .10. Do you have digital calipers? Once I started with them I would have been lost without them. It makes dosing so much more accurate.
