He is just in his bed most of the time

George sleeps a lot too, in fact the vet at the rescue said he would be lazier than the average cat because of his heart murmur,:joyful: he has his favorite places, usually though he is not far from us.

Since we have had him he has been sick 3 times,
1) diabetes diagnosis
2) bad teeth
3) suspected pancreatitis/infection

all of those times he was of course still sleeping, but we noticed he was keeping his distance, not exactly hiding, but just not in the same room as us. In the evenings, I often have him stuck to my hip while I watch TV (doesn't lie on my lap now, I think it's his arthritis, he's not comfortable), unless the wood burner is on, then he lies on the rug by the fire. It can be subtle, especially when they are a little older.
Now if he decides to sleep on the cat bed in the kitchen I start to watch him.......

So for us if we notices he is spending more time sleeping away from us it sets of alarm bells.

@Gill & George Buddy has always been pretty stand offish, Does not EVER want to be held but He did used to sit on my lap once in a while in my office, and would sit on the arm of the couch next to me. He quit doing that about 2 months ago, I do think he is uncomfortable but maybe not in any real pain. He never had an audible purr, you would always have to feel his neck, I don't catch him purring very often any more but once in a while. He still likes his head scratched and will rub my legs when I am getting his food.

the other things he does for the last several months are
he pees next to the litter box (on a pad)
and he just poops when ever, he will be walking across the floor and pause, and poop, it seems to just fall out (?) . of course we dont get mad at him or anything, he can't help it.

But I know he don't feel the greatest but he seems ok. at this point he will sleep in the bed he stole from our doggo, or in my moms side of the house in the recliner. Just have to keep a close eye on him for little changes.

My poor old man.

What a great cycle! I was so hoping for under 100 for pmps. hopefully he don't trend up for the night like he usually does after a good day. NO BOUNCE!

Is he in the litter box when this happens? When Neko's arthritis started getting bad, she didn't crouch as much, and the pee went flying over the edge. Pee pads surrounding the box were floor savers.

No he won't get in the litter box at all. We have tried new boxes, new/different litter. even a tray that is mostly flat so he dont have to step in, but he just goes right next to them. Luckily he does make sure he is on the pads.
