Other than her numbers, how is Freckles doing?

Freckles is doing very well. Her appetite is still "very good". lol
No external heaters for the cows - just internal heaters - eating lots of hay!! They are very wooly, have lots of bedding and in shelters/windbreaks. We had a little one born during this cold snap! Her name is "Sunshine" because that is what saved her I'm sure. Into the house by the wood stove to dry off and warm up for 2 days. Gave her a bottle of colostrum (we are pretty sure she had already had a drink from her mom when we found her). She is wearing a hoody to keep her ears warm, and locked in the barn with her mom at night. They are quite incredible. Running around and bunting at 2 days old!
We don't start calving until mid-end March, but we bought some cows from a neighbor last year who would leave the bull in with the cows all year - so that is what you get... cows that calve all year! The mom will get on a 'normal' cycle with the rest of the herd for next year.
