2/4 Chloe AMPS 430, bouncing

The increase in dose may take a few cycles before you see what it can do. Just wondering about the 0.3u and then 0.4u yesterday? Are those typos?
No, I think I went slightly past the .5 mark. Tonight, I got it right. Her PMPS was 224, but because my bulemic cat, Chico, threw up in the bowl, she didn't get her full dinner. She just was 71 and meowing, so I opened a new can and she went at it. I'll stay up another hour to make sure she's going up.

Hope Chloe stays safe, I'm glad you'll check her BG again. With that 71, following SLGS, it earns her a reduction back down to 0.25u.

Roberta, I also did mention it last night when I saw the 71, that with SLGS you need to take the reduction. I see she went even lower, and I must admit, I'm struggling here on how to help you since I have very often given you the details of SLGS and explained when to take reductions and how long to hold the dose. Sometimes there isn't someone always here to make sure to remind you that you need to reduce, but two of us did.

The fact that you quoted me telling you that she earned a reduction makes me feel that you just are choosing to ignore my advice.

Please reduce at next shot. I have also mentioned that you need to ignore the higher numbers after a bounce and that we dose based on nadirs not preshots. Please do get some additional tests tonight to see how she is going.

And here is the sticky, again on SLGS. https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...-low-go-slow-slgs-tight-regulation-tr.210110/

how long to hold the dose.
I held the dose at .25 for 7 days as you told me. She was pretty flat in the 200's for her PMPS, and mostly in the 400's at her AMPS. Maybe I should do 5. in the mornings and .25 in the evenings. Last night, she had her bowl of food next to her all night and I could hear her eating before I fell asleep. Chloe has always been difficult to regulate. Also, I'm sure there are other variables that affect her BG numbers, such as how much she eats. I am trying to get her to eat more lately because of her weight.

@Roberta and Chloe
Since you’re intent on staying at 0.5u tonight despite Chloe earning a reduction, PLEASE get at least one before-bed test to see how the cycle is heading (and be prepared for more tests if needed).

If you are determined not to reduce back to 0.25u, then I suggest you consider going to halfway between 0.25u and 0.5u and sticking with that for 7 days. It might just make all the difference.

You can also consider getting calipers to help you if you have a hard time “eyeballing” that amount consistently. For what it’s worth, I had to micro-dose Charlie and it *is* possible.

Just my two cents. I’ve been following along from the sidelines.
