Good morning out there all! :cat:

I am experimenting with trying for more controlled drops/dives, so have started adding in approx 0.5-1tsp of her 3% food (Wellness Venison blend) at PS and +1/+1.5 checks. I add more in the nighttime cycle, since her dives are greater in PM than AM. So far, I think this is showing that the 3% does help slow things. I will have to tinker with the amount adjustment so that she can continue to scale down and not get stuck at higher numbers.

Yes, she is THAT carb sensitive. I am learning! :bookworm:

Happy Sunday!

I'm no spreadsheet expert and can't tell the difference between a cat who is still bouncing versus one who is done with a dose. But you are seeing some blues and did have that 114 only three cycles ago...so...patience pants time. :bighug: Paws crossed that Pearl comes down soon.

I don't necessarily think she is bouncing. I Just don't understand why she was so green a couple doses ago, but now it's so hard to get back to green. Is it possible (crazy as it sounds) her dose is too high for green??

I'm no dosing expert but likely not. There was excellent discussion with examples on Chicamonkey's post today. In summary, if you are following the dosing method and increasing systematically and testing, you won't pass by a good dose. In that post, post #19 from Wendy has her first hand experience (and others provided lots of other SSs to look at). Hope that helps some :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So very helpful! I'm going to tag moderators and ask someone to look at my chart. Maybe I need to increase her sooner than anticipated to stay away from glucose toxity. Thank you!

@tiffmaxee if you are still on, perhaps you can take a look at Margaret's post above about increasing or holding?
I think I figured it out so I untagged the admins (I know they have got a ton to slog through) - just forget about thinking about glucose toxicity at this point (for my own sanity). I read Wendy's story and others about how the GREENS would evade them at certain doses too.
Hold dose for 6-10 cycles since her NADIRs some have been under 200 (we are at Cycle 6 now). Maybe I can upp her tomorrow at Cycle 8 or 9 on Sunday morning? Thanks Susanne!

It never hurts to ask :bighug: They chime in when they can. And sometimes they will be able to read your SS with more clarity since they've seen so many and offer insight.

And I'm not sure there is such a thing as untagging...I think once you tag, even if you edit your post, that a notification has already gone out to whoever was originally tagged. No worries though.

You're doing the right thing asking questions :bighug: Pearl sure is lucky to have you :cat:

I’m sorry, Margaret, that none of us got here today. You are right that some days we are juggling a lot of bowling pins

Under the TR protocol, for nadirs under 200, we hold the dose 6-10 consecutive cycles which you have done as tonight is seven cycles. It looks to me like Pearl needs an increase. It’s not uncommon for a kitty to start out pretty good on a dose and then pfizzle.

If you see green numbers tonight or get an AMPS of 150 or below, you might want to let the dose ride another cycle. Especially because as soon as Pearl reads this, she will decide to dip her toes in the lagoon and make me look silly :p

Thanks so much for your message, Marje. I appreciate all the input, and totally understand about all that you have to get through! And I think I am pretty stable in figuring things out as I go, so may not need as much support as some. But if it's a real emergency don't worry I will make sure you all know! ;)

I will go up to 2.75U tomorrow morning unless AMPS is lower than 150. Tonight I "think" I am controlling her drops - she has come down 150 points in 3 hours, but only in jumps of 50 at a time. But still even with that, she is just too high in general. So I will do the dose increase in the morning. So far Pearl has not gotten your message yet and isn't green :p

Thank you for the confirmation, I needed that!

You’re welcome. Even when we feel certain our decision is a good one, it never hurts to have a sounding board.

I see Pearl is thinking about a little toe dip......
