Thank you so much to everyone that gave suggestions on dealing with stress and worry when it comes to our sugar babies :bighug:

Mo hasn't done a runny poo since the 29th but we also haven't see any poo so he's either clogged up OR he is doing them outside again. I'm sure we will soon find out. We have really struggled to get the antibiotic tablets into him. We end up with cuts and scratches all out our hands. I think I'll ring the vet tomorrow (they are closed today) and see if they have one of those pill giver thingies we can have. Or if they have a liquid form.

He hasn't been ravenous lately and still isn't into his treats. He's been leaving food behind, which is very unlike him. He does go back later to clean it up but I don't know if this is because he's feeling better or there is something else going on. It's worrying because he's lost 200g in about a month which is quite a lot. We are feeding him extra at meal times (we feed him 4 times/day) and I'm going to go out and get some raw chicken to give him between meals just to try and get more into him. He's still 5.4kg but he's quite a long boy so you can notice the weight loss.

Something positive though...oh wait....I smell POO! BRB.....WE HAVE 3 LOGS! I REPEAT, WE HAVE 3 LOGS!!! Still a bit smelly and soft, but that's an improvement :) Fabulous!

Something else positive is that he sat on Tim's lap on the evening of the 29th. That's a BIG deal because he never sits with us anymore. Then during the night, he came under the covers with me for cuddles. It was lovely. I think he's a bit mad at us for trying to shove pills down his throat so he's not super keen for cuddles the last couple of days :blackeye:

I hope everyone is having a great day! :bighug:

Well I'm glad it seems like he's feeling a little better!

How are you giving the antibiotic? I usually just wrap Mr Kitty up with a towel like a burrito to avoid the claws...but then there's still teeth  If you can get your fingers (or even the safe end of a pen or something similar) back where the molars are to pop his mouth open, those at least hurt a little less. But hopefully it's available in liquid form, or low carb pill pockets are available. Could you maybe try putting the pill in a piece of chicken or something?

Good news!! Poop and cuddles!

I always have to get an antibiotic injection for Grem. Not always ideal for the condition being treated. Once upon a time he would shred us trying to pill him. Now he has two small pills a day and with his bad teeth and gums, I won't give anymore than that. Those two small ones are hard enough.

We try by one of us holding him done and the other person putting the pill in his mouth but it's not working very well. We might have to hide it in some chicken if they don't have the antibiotic in liquid form!

and the best daily update prize goes to......
three poo logs and cuddles. :bighug:
HAHAHA thank you! I am honoured to have this title :D:joyful:

Yayyyy for Poop!!!

LOL @JOJI and Kit
:smuggrin::D

POOP! We celebrate poops at my house with a ticker tape parade. I suggest you try it as well. :p
That sounds like a lot of fun!! I'm into it

Oh yes, we are getting shredded trying to give TWO pills. And they're not particularly big. Tim had to dettol his cuts afterwards :blackeye: I'm determined for find a less ouchie way to give him his tablets!
You must be a pro if you're giving tablets daily!

Mo must have felt better after his poop today as he gave us a cheeky yellow at PMPS ;) It's only just a yellow but I'll take anything I can get. He's still not keen on the dried treats I've been giving him. Time to switch to chicken I think. He goes mad for chicken, so if he goes off that then we know something is wrong.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day/evening/night!

Congrats on the poo party, trust me I can understand the simple joys of poo and cuddles. I too have had to do the burrito as well. Magellan hates pills and he is a very big boy. His last vet check said he was 16 lbs... that can be a lot of annoyed cat to struggle with.

I think tomorrow will be trying the burrito method! I'm sure he won't like it but it's only for a few more days until the antibiotics are finished.

That is a lot of annoyed cat to struggle with but also a lot of cute kitty to love ;)

Yay for poop! Nice on the lap time and cuddles. I hope you can find a way to give the antibiotic that works. My civvie Baby can be a crazy cat to deal with. I've had to give her Zyrtec for her allergies a lot over the last year. She has finally learned nothing horrible is happening to her if I give her a pill, but it took time. When I first started giving her the pill she tried to run away immediately afterwards. I would not let her. I held on to her and started giving her loving and eventually she learned not to run away. I also give her a few treats afterwards to make sure the pill goes down. Maybe you can teach Mo it's not awful and he won't be so bad. I learned to shove the pill in the side of her mouth so I can get it past her tongue and then it usually goes down. Good luck. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so glad she was able to learn it wasn't such an awful thing! Thanks for the tip, I will try putting it on the side of his mouth tomorrow and see if that helps. We have been doing it before his lunch so he can get the yucky taste out of his mouth. Can't wait for the antibiotics to be done with :blackeye:

Oh, definitely not a pro! Grem just got old and fights far less. And then he lost a front leg which makes it really hard to fight! He does occasionally manage to bite me though... Haha!
