She was fed 5% carb at +3 before i got home....and now high carb food at +4. She is doing well. I will continue to test.
I am out of the house weekdays from +1-+4.

Yesterdays post

Good catch BUT can you start getting a +2 or +3? Congrats on the reduction. Check in 20 minutes.

This is only her second day at 1 unit.... and her 4th time at this dose. She has also been at 0.75 3 times. Im thinking about using calipers to find something in the middle.

Im at my neighbors from +1 - +4 helping my kids and their kids with school... i cant leave them alone. I might be able to sneak inside at recess at +3 some days.

I used calipers and once I started was lost without them. FWIW had you tested sooner, you could have fed to prevent the drop under 40. If you caught it earlier since she’s a long term diabetic you might have prevented the drop and required reduction since for long terms it’s 3 in the 40’s.

What about an auto feeder set to go off hourly and then a check when you can sneak away?

Yes... but im not sure that would have helped too much in this situation. I fed her at shot time, +1 and left food out. Then my Husband fed 5% at +3 (technically 20 minutes before +3). Should i be regulary feeding Higher carb around her nadir then 5% ?..... unless i know that she is dropping.

I just took a closer look at your ss. She dropped under 50 three times so instead of a increase to 1.0 she earned a decrease to .50! No wonder she dropped today.

Correction. My bad. There were two under before the increase. I’d take the full reduction this time. Then I would start using calipers and trying smaller decreases.

I fed 5% at +4.5 even though she is till low because her number seems to be going up.
At +5 now that she is in a safe range i fed 1% again hoping she doesnt bounce like she usually does. I will continue to test as well.

She dropped to 50... and twice below since being 0.75. But not 3 times below. Does to 50 count??

I was wrong again. The first drop I noticed was on 1.0. I would do a full decrease this time. Then try a 1/8 next time using calipers. The lines on the syringes can be off by as much as a quarter unit. Sorry I’ve confused you. Doing this on my iPad. I need to see the ss and condo at the same time but the split screen drives me crazy So I. disabled it.

No worries...i appricate the time you take to help me. Also makes me triple check things :D

I like your idea, i will drop to 0.75 tonight..... then if another increase is necessary i will increase to 0.8.
THANK YOU!!

The two ways that long term diabetics can earn reductions under TR are a drop under 40 (which you saw today), or a week in normal numbers. Some people with cats that don't hold reductions well do 3 drops between 40 and 49 on separate days. Tonight you go back to 0.75 units. Good luck with the new dose.
