01/18 Casper AMPS 371, +4 456, +8 301, PMPS HI, +3 347

I saw. He’s either bouncing or will need the .75. With all the skips and different doses we will have to see where he leads us.
You need to decide whether you will follow TR or SLGS though. With SLGS you need a week on this dose. With TR minimum 6 cycles.

If the anemia is caused from CKD it might be time for Aranesp or Epogen. You do not start that if over 20% or if the cause is something else. Anemia can effect his heart so you need to find out the cause. I’d call either the ER or your vet for guidance. Did your vet get the records from the ER? You might want to email them along with an update.

Yup, called the ER, they said I should bring him to his primary vet (the one who messed up everything initially). I got his record, the HCT was 22.8 on the day he was discharged (report attached for your reference).
I am calling another reputable vet and see if I may able to bring him in (hard to get in, still waiting on hold....)

They say it’s regenerative anemia likely so probably not from kidneys. There’s likely something else causing it. Above my knowledge. The kidney numbers are not high enough to cause this. That much I know.

The vet finally got back to me, they would not be able to see him as they do not have the ability to even do a blood transfusion. Suggested I go to the ER. *Sigh Calling ER back now...

I also wonder if whatever his other health issue he has is spiking his bg. So many unknowns. It sure would help to know what you are dealing with.

The worst thing is, the vet doesn't really reveal that much to us but a $ amount. I don't mind paying for anything, but in return, I would really like to know what he is dealing with and what are my options rather than, call this one, then pushed to the other.

He has been laying and sleeping all the time since yesterday afternoon (1PM), except when we got him up for feeding, testing and shots. He stays very much alert in the car, strong legs. Other than the pale gum, paw pads and eyes, I would thought he is just tired and in the recovery mode.

Just talked to the doctor, his BG went to the roof that the meter can't even read. She decided to give him 1U now. (We did emphasized we are doing right control regulation on his BG, that he is taking 0.5U per dose, 2 times a day.)
They are doing CBC now and told us to continue to wait.

Update:

His HTC is 20.4, WBC is high. The doctor prescribed antibiotics for him. I would need to monitor him tonight in case his BG goes too low.

Do they have any idea what the infection could be?
No, the doctor said it's not way out of wack, but she would like to put him on antibiotics for 10 days. She said she does not understand why we didn't have any antibiotics when Casper was discharged from their facility on the 13th. (I do, if Casper gets worse, he will be back again, therefore, revenue.)

I also ordered Epogen too, hopefully it will help him on the anemia.

Epogen won’t work if the anemia is caused by something other than CKD. Do I’d you get a copy of labs?
