1/3/21 Squeaky! - PMPS 422 AMPS 152 +3=77 +6=139

8 cycles on this dose now. Time for an increase? @tiffmaxee?
If you don’t see green today I would go up tonight. If green today see to next two cycles.
I hope Squeaky slides down and surfs today.

Thank you all for looking after us!

Sometimes I wonder if we don't see green simply because I am unable to test him as frequently as others can.

Carla, I hope Squeaky joins Furball on the beach!

I think that was a good idea to get the +6 :)

Something you and Squeaky may need to have a conversation about (and come to a mutual understanding ;) ) is that as he gets into nice green numbers more often, you may need to test more often to make sure he is surfing safely in those greens :D

Yes I will talk to him. Maybe he will really like the backpack and it can be a distraction for him.

I think a +6 every time is fairly mandatory, unless he tests preshot in the 400s or so. I can also do +3s on the days he is green. Thank goodness for the pandemic, otherwise I wouldn't be home for this and when I was home, I'd be too tired to do anything right.......

It's very exciting to see and understand that he is slowly healing! Can't wait for OTJ!

What a great day so far for you and Squeaky! I know you really worry about him and how the pokes make him feel, but if you were able to test him just one or two more times each day, he'd probably go a little faster down the dosing ladder and feel better sooner. Ruby is a totally different kitty now that she's regulated. She's more affectionate and cuddly and generally in a better mood than before.

Those dose increase threats seem to work every single time! I swear they can read our minds when we're talking about that...

I've sometimes thought about getting out the foil cap to wear...to keep Luci from 'hearing' what I'm planning on doing...especially if I make a plan to go somewhere...she always has other ideas about that!

Have a good evening!

Hi Katherine, Hmmm, I hadn't thought of it that way. I will consider it. Thanks for your encouragement.

You know, we had a really hard time getting blood in his ears today! They almost seemed thinner and devoid of blood. Twice today we had to prick twice to get enough blood.

I just don't want him to get neurotic again...... like last time when I tested him every hour. He was shaking and really upset. And really avoided me. It wasn't good.

HA HA HA HA so true! They don't always cooperate! Especially if we have to do something or go somewhere.... LOL how do they read our minds.....

I know that it's not easy. Sometimes I'm lucky and I'll just have to poke Ruby once, but most of the time I have to do it three or four times and she complains and I feel terrible. We've got a good schedule worked out now and she knows that a nice meal usually comes after the pokes so she sits still for me, but it's a wonder to me all the time that she still trusts me. I think after a while she has made the connection between all of the poking and how well she is feeling so she doesn't mind as much anymore.

HI Katherine,

WOW glad to know I'm not the only one poking more than once. We use the little lancet machine and that seems to work pretty well. I warm up the ear and massage it first, and that seems to help too.

Yes it's a miracle that they still trust us..... I give Squeaky so much love and attention. When I give him his inhaler, I have a square of terricloth that I dampen and use to wipe the steroid off his face. I have learned that if I rub it over the back of his head, neck and shoulders, he feels like he's getting licked by his mom, and he really really likes it!!!! It's good to have another way to show love.

Sending hugs to you and Ruby!!!! :bighug: :cat::bighug:
