Some guy I used to work with would always say "It's colder than a witches tit" lolSee that's the problem...we have the same weather as you and we are not built for it
So the phrase “… colder than a witch's tit…” was used during very cold weather because of the reference to their cold blood and skin. A few sources quote that a witch's tit (orwitch's teat) supposedly left a marking that witch hunters and courts would look for on the body of an accused witchI'm laugh-crying lol.

i remember those low temp days when living down your way. indeed. the heating was electric and the insulation was ... hmmmm .... yeah. brrrrrrr.

lol. that does not sound like fun. We do have gas heat so yay for that. And actually we replaced a 20 year old patio door last month and that has made our downstairs so much warmer - we had no idea it was drafty (we replaced the door due to rot reasons).
