12/23 Oberon PMPS 366 (1U R), +2 355

How are the calipers going? It really helps to use a light table if you aren't already - I use an app on my iphone/ipad called "MyLight" that acts as my light table (it's free!).

Surf safely, Oberon :cat:

Going well! I'm using my laptop screen as a background, and that's working out. Might try the app, though. Thanks!

Are you back to the previous R scale, minus switch to calipers of course? It was nice seeing a blue break yesterday.

I'm sort of flailing a bit with the R scale at the moment, trying to come up with a dose that drops him by about 100. 1 U with the calipers is about 0.5 U on the old scale. I actually think he needs a bit more than that, but yesterday's dose coincided with a dip so the R effect looked bigger than I think it actually was. Need a bit more data.

If we count that yellow dip on 12/19 as an actual dip, yesterday's was just about right on schedule, ~6 cycles later. I think the dip pattern is still the same as it was before, but the dips aren't as big or lasting as long. That suggests that when the antibodies kick loose, there's not as much insulin being released, or simply that when he clears bounces he's not at an effective L dose. So maybe the L dose needs to go back up a bit. Tonight will be cycle 6 at the current dose (4.75). Thinking of increasing to 5 U tomorrow morning. And this afternoon I'm going to call to schedule a checkup/bloodwork/dental check so we can see if there's anything else going on. He was on such a nice downward trajectory and now he's stalled out.

Finally scheduled his checkup (and kitten Freya's) for Tuesday afternoon. I'll discuss dental and other stuff with the vet then (and get a senior blood panel done) and figure out how best to proceed.

Morning data: +8 374, AMPS 439 (1U R), +2 393, +4 379, +6 387, +8 372, +10.75 387

Dose increase tomorrow morning? This is cycle 6 at this dose.

Sounds good. I'll plan for it.

R dose data: So far, doses of 1 U that did not happen to coincide with a regular dip resulted in decreases of 35, 60, and 42 at R+4. (The doses that did overlap with a big dip had decreases of 96 (1 U) and 110 (1.25 U) at +4.) I think I can move up to testing 1.25 U a couple of times.

Oh, and earlier this evening he hacked up a hairball (and canned cat food, yum) all over my comforter. Hopefully that's what was causing the vomiting a few days ago. I'm trying to brush him more often.
