Hi Patty,

Just woke up again and wanted to see how your Bluebird got on overnight. I see he's back down into the green again this morning.

I can't answer the question about the chemo because I just don't know.

Did you both have a good rest overnight?

Quick question, Patty: Did you give exactly the same food to Blue yesterday for his breakfast and his afternoon feed (i.e. same brand and flavour)?

Good morning, Patty. I expected to see Blue heading up by morning but was so surprised! I’ve been wondering about possibilities as well. Chemo? Long enough in green to stop bouncing? Reading the playbook to OTJ? As Mogs asked, what are you feeding him? Any change ? Maybe he didn’t want us to try out our little experiment!
You were correct not to shoot as he’s been under 150, not even close to 180. I fell asleep and then was tossing and turning all night.

Hey guys.
I feed American Journey in the morning and it could be chicken & tuna or turkey & salmon. In the afternoon I give FF or Friskies but various flavors.
At night he gets either-or. Started giving Fortaflora
3 or 4 days ago. No changes in food really.
I'm surprised too. I thought he'd be up by today.
Sorry you tossed and turned...I hate nights like that.
I haven't had to worry about it recently...I sleep soundly. Too many nights up testing Blue.
Mogs, how is Noodles BP this morning?

Should I test some today?

I still would do some testing. Maybe the first in three hours, just in case he does go up we want to catch it. Im thinking it won’t happen but he’s a puzzle right now. (Anti-jinx)

I already missed the three hour mark. I was showering and getting ready for ”football”.
:) I'll get a test now.

No strict timeline on this. We just want to catch any spike if there’s is one. Enjoy the games.

I'd recommend making a brief note of actual brands and varieties fed in the spreadsheet remarks (e.g. "Breakfast: Blah Blah Brand, Turkey Variety 4%"), reason being that sometimes it can happen that certain foods particularly agree/disagree with a specific kitty. It might be a particular carb level or particular ingredients that make a difference. Should there be any variations in Blue's response to different foods, having a record of what has been fed might give greater context to the BG readings and, if any pattern is recognised, might help you streamline his food choices to optimise glycaemic control.

By way of an illustrative example, a cat may be fed a low carb food but if it contains soy protein and the cat is sensitive to soy the food can really spike BG levels, even though at face value the overall carb level is low enough for a feline diabetic.

Mogs, how is Noodles BP this morning?
At its lowest last night it was 116 systolic (lower bound of reference range is 110). At 10am today it was up to 130 systolic (where a non-hypertensive cat should be). Six hours later it was still at 130 so she's not getting any amlodipine today. Again, I thank the kitty gods for the meter. (((Noodle)))

How is Blue feeling today? Is he enjoying his lovely new bed (of which I am hugely envious!)?

((((Blue))))

So I guess the Bug is eating and feeling better!
I know you are relieved.

Blue is good. Mia has taken over the bed. He let her.
He's been all over the living room napping. I think he feels good and that makes me happy.

Oh, one other thing...Blue likes to nap in the box the bed came in. Of course, I've left it in the middle of the room.

Alas, no. She's less lethargic and appetite is a bit better but she won't eat anything for me. :(

I know you are relieved.
That she's out of immediate danger from her BP dropping too low and her going into shock, yes. Other problem areas, not so much. :(

That he feels good is what really matters, Patty. :) :bighug: I'm beyond glad Blue's feeling well and happy in himself. ((((Blue))))

That makes Biue a big softie. My kinda cat! :cat: Amadán, Saoirse's brother, was the biggest of all my cats but he was an absolute pushover. I loved him very dearly for it (and for many other things)! (((Amadán)))

Nice to see him channelling his inner Saoirse. :D My Bonnie Munchkin loved, loved, loved boxes. (((Saoirse)))

Of course, I've left [the box] in the middle of the room.
Nice to see you channelling your inner Moglet. I've done the very same. :D

You can relax then.
I reckon that when they were sequencing my DNA, the gods saw fit not to include the 'relax' gene. Never been good at it (unless it involved full throttle passion, rowdy music and driving as fast as conditions would safely allow), even before the PTSD. I was the sort of Londoner that thought most other Londoners were dawdlers - taking too much time going up escalators or cluttering up the way in Oxford Street. Patrick's Street in Cork was torture! One could be forgiven for thinking that the majority of pedestrians there considered jaywalking to be the work of God. :banghead: When I first moved to Ireland it was such a shock to the system that it took me a couple of years to come in to land.
