some challenges getting back down
that made me laugh. I can tell Jax has a similar thought process sometimes...like "hmm I got up here...but i do not know how to get down".

Cole is looking beautiful - have a wonderful day, Elizabeth :bighug:

Hi. I’m wondering why you dropped his dose to .25? I don’t see an earned reduction but I know there had to be a reason.

I get that way too when I do hilly hiking! I scamper up the hill but then freak out a little coming down, so I get Cole. And yes, it's Friday! Have a lovely day, Elizabeth.

I decided based on a few things, and thinking I'd just go back to .5 pretty quickly if Cole's numbers started to look worse. He was at cycle 13 on .5u, and staying mainly in blue on the AlphaTrak - a few dips into green, but nothing consistent. We tried going back to .75 and he quickly earned a reduction back down. At the same time, we started on the human meter, and our vet has said twice that he's in remission - which we nodded at, but don't agree with. On the human meter, he has been consistently green and so while I can't prove that he would have been green before the meter switch, I think he's been flat and green for more than 10 cycles. So thought we would try the reduction, and if numbers went up, we'd go back to the .5u.

Going to stay at this .25u number for at least 10 cycles and then will need help to decide what next.

Does that make sense? I know the meters aren't comparable and they measure BG in slightly different ways, but all advice was to stick with the human meter readings since the protocol was done with those.

I definitely would stick with the human meter. I would not wait necessarily at least 10 cycles though. See how it goes.

Thanks Elise - how many cycles would you do before the next reduction if he continues with this flat green?

I think a reduction has been earned. You move to fine dosing. The new dose is .01.
