Willow is all over the place lately, and these low numbers are new for her. She almost got to <60, so I don't know if she's earned a reduction or not. It could be due to the fact that she was having stomach problems yesterday and overnight after her third dose of cabergoline, and didn't take in a lot of food. She seems fine and hungry now, though.

In any case, nice to see the Levemir (and hopefully cabergoline too) working! Willow had a long sugary road on Lantus.

On TR you normally earn a reduction if she goes under 50.....not sure if using carbergoline makes a difference or not to that, I have no experience with it, so I’ll leave that up to Wendy.
It must be lovely for you to see some green numbers!

I don't know if you can get another test in tonight, but looks like it might be a good idea. Those new greens are wonderful to see though! :D

The thing about cabergoline, is cats will differ in how it impacts the acro tumour, and how fast. I have seen some crazy fast changes on it. Because of that, and because of the 61 you saw today, in spite of the recent fur shots, I think I'd back the dose down to 9.5 units. That'll give you a bit of a margin for safety.

Just for your reference, take a look at Marvin's SS, starting June 23/2017. Look at week two and how fast the dose changed. This was the first cat we saw on cabergoline and he had one of the strongest reactions to it. He was off of insulin end of week 5. Just because we don't know how Willow will respond, be conservative in dosing. Take larger reductions, maybe even change your reduction point to 70 for the moment. It can be a wild ride down dose, if that is how Willow responds. And keep posting for help - we have a few people here who have seen how cabergoline can change dose requirements.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion! Will do 9.5 this morning. I tried setting an alarm for a +6 test overnight but didnt wake up! I managed to get a +9 test but hopefully she didn't go too low in between. i think I will break out the auto-feeder for future situations where I'm worried about overnight decreases.

Also thanks for the link to Marvin's SS! That is dramatic, and the reductions were especially dramatic. I will have to think and ask here about this if Willow reacts the same way.
