Question - she got a B-12 shot and it hurt her - is this common? Use her insulin syringes not the barbaric ones from the vet. Was fine last time. My husband (the shot man) feels awful.
yesWas this given subcutaneously with her insulin syringes?
Thank youI think that should not hurt. But I have no experience giving them. Tagging @Shiloh567 @Aleluia Grugru & Minnie @Jan D & Squeaky who do.

I agree. Can’t justify my decision, I was up and couldn’t poke her. I did do a +3 just not +4. Maybe irresponsible, maybe not safe. You know how much I adore her and 99% of the time I do whatever I need to, to keep her safe. Last night was my 1%.Just saw this. Good night!
ETA: Dolly tends to dip at +3, even if her +2 is the same as PS. So unless her +2 is significantly higher than her PS, it would make sense to get another test before calling it a night!
Minnie used to meow and run off so I think it did hurt her too. I think because it’s such a large dose. But I was using the larger syringes. Now however, I inject it the same way I do her insulin shots. Still using the larger syringes but I make an extra large tent and I shoot parallel to her body and as far away from the neck as possible. She doesn’t mind anymore.Question - she got a B-12 shot and it hurt her - is this common? Use her insulin syringes not the barbaric ones from the vet. Was fine last time. Thank you Aleluia. I thought by using the insulin syringes there wouldn’t be any pain issues. I guess it’s the medicine that can sting. I do the testing, my husband the injections. He felt so bad. Dolly doesn’t react to her insulin shots , she just get in position after being tested, just another routine for her.Minnie used to meow and run off so I think it did hurt her too. I will show him your message. You and Minnie take care.
