Hi, and thank you for allowing me to join. We have 2 cats, Rupert (9) and Mufasa (15). We adopted Mufasa when he was 8 years old. He came from a hoarding situation. He is a snuggler, gives hugs and is my shadow.
Very soon after his adoption, he was diagnosed with mild asthma. He was on a low dosage of prednisilone every other day until this year. His asthma became worse so he got pred every day.
Earlier this year, he had a bad URI and a few months ago, inflammation in his pancreas. We have taken him off pred and working to get him comfortable getting Flovent.
Last week he was diagnosed with borderline diabetes. Tested again yesterday and his numbers are about 418. Currently trying wet food only, a list given by our vet. We go back this Saturday for another checkup.
In research mode now. A friend has been through this and has been very helpful. Told me about Young Again Zero and will see what our vet thinks. Mufasa does well with wet food but enjoys some kibble.
Looking forward to learning from all of you!
