Hercules has an itchy ear

Hi All,
One of hercules ears is clearly bothering him. A couple of days ago he didn't want me to touch it, so I only tested the other year and kept an eye on. He is more tolerant to touching, but is itching t it a lot. He seem to also be keeping that year at "half-mast". It can be an infection, but is it likely to be something serious that requires vet attention, or should I just continue to keep an eye on it?

Anyone has seen that as a result of testing?

For fleas? He is an indoor cat only, so not since summer....

I was wondering whether it might potentially be a problem with ear mites.

yes... that is why I always think thrice before taking him in...is a mixed bag.... Do you think I'm okay keeping an eye for a few more days before panicking?
I worried that with the diabetes I need to be more careful with infections?

Wht do you see when you look down the ear canal? and also smell the ear?
I suspect an infection and wouod go to a vet.

It's already been going on for a couple of days, Anna, so I'd suggest giving your vets a ring. They should be able to advise you on whether they need to see him.

Thanks both... I was worried about an infection because he his BG has been running high, but of course, being hercules he decides to throw a 3 for his PMPS!
No idea what is going on!

Just had a good look and sniff.. dont see or smell anything....
