Hi Patty,

Been tied up till now. I see from the spreadsheet you gave Blue his drop of Lantus.

Did you get a decent sleep? How is your beautiful Bluebird this morning? ((((Blue))))

Hi Mogs.
I slept great once again! Getting ready for late November nights. I did give Blue a drop of insulin and fed 10% before. There was a discussion about this last night after you went offline.
I'm going to test +1 in about 10 minutes.
You and Noodlebug doing okay?

Blue was laying on me and getting love and I forgot to test.
He's 154 +1
I have an appt. today at 1:15 and have to leave 45 minutes before so I'm hopeful he'll stay
within a safe range. I can always have someone feed him a little while I'm gone if necessary.

:D

I think it's wise to have someone give him regular snack amounts of food while you're at your appointment. What carb % are you looking at for that period?

I guess it depends on where his level is when I leave. If he's up where he is now I'm thinking 10% and if he's low then maybe 16% or really low 20%...what do you think?

I'll be leaving at +3 after testing.
He's at 111 +2 and I'm just giving him a little LC
What do you think?
I'm off to shower but I can feed something with higher carbs if you think? BB

The dose is likely to still be working fairly strongly round that time so, to be on the safe side, it might be an idea for them to feed either the 16% or 20% snacks while you're away, depending on how low Blue is at +3. What do you think yourself?

He's at 67 YIKES
I'm feeding him 22% and since he can't be tested for a couple of hours, I'm asking Tara to give him a teaspoon in 45 minutes and another in 45 more minutes. What do you think?
I'm not quite up-to-date on Blue's feeding protocols.
How much 22% did you give? (Wondering if 1 tsp in 45 minutes will be enough.)

If he drops early you will need to always test every 30 minutes at the beginning of the cycle. He likes to drop early when he drops fast. It’s past 30. Where’s the test?

Oops. . You are gone. I hope she feeds every 30.

I’m sorry. I was having technical difficulties snd my neighbor was here trying to help. It’s an hour late so I presume you skipped. You will need to start shooting green if you want to follow TR. The idea is shoot low to stay low. Maybe tomorrow.

We could try it and see how he reacts. I know he should get it every 12 hours but I felt I would be feeding a lot just to keep him above 50. He didn’t go up that much being fed 22% every half hour today while I was gone.

I don’t think you want to make a habit of feeding 22%. If he can stay up with no more than 15% maybe that’s okay for awhile. He’s staying in pretty good numbers right now. If a drop sends him under 50 then he might not need insulin every day. Did you feed him at PMPS? If yes grab a test in 3 hours without food. I guess to play it safe get a +2 as well. Let’s see if he stays green.
