Lola had to have most of her teeth removed by a new vet, as they were really really bad. She had that done today and is recovering sort of okay, but she won’t eat, I assume because of pain. I’ve given her more painkillers and will try again in an hour, but I’m freaking out a little.
She hadn’t had any insulin today - the vet checked her sugar before surgery and decided not to dose because she hadn’t eaten (of course). I can’t give her insulin tonight on an empty stomach, so I’m at a bit of a rock and a hard place.
How concerned should I be? What can I do to coax her to eat? I don’t want her to go without insulin for too long...
