Hey guys, it's been a while! SS not updated so if you don't want to help, I understand. I'm not really sure what to do with him tonight, he threw me a big curve ball.
So he usually is steady at around 5u, but this last week kept dipping low (below 100) so within 7 days he's down to 4.5u (prozinc). Typically he gets down to the low 100's at around 6hr and is back up to high 200's- low 300's by shot time @ 5:00am/pm.
This morning my husband gave him 4.5u at 5am, and I got home at around 7:30am and tested him, he was at 240. So I went to sleep, and regretfully didn't test him again until 5pm for his next shot. He was at 90. I fed him because all the cats were hungry, waited an hour and he was 104. No more food since then, by 7pm he was 150, 8pm; 140, 9pm; 170.
I can wait up until 10pm to shoot him, that would be +17 from his last shot. This is very unusual for him so I'm not sure what to do, but he has a history of DKA so I really don't want to skip. I'm thinking of just giving him 2u at this point, but I do feel it's risky.
He's eating well, playing, acting himself. Haven't been able to test for ketones but it's on my to do list.
Any thoughts?
Sorry if this post seems jumbled, it's been a while since I've been on here and haven't updated his spread sheet in some time.
