12/08 Butters AMPS 317/+3 295/+6 272/PMPS 229

In my experience it is SO disheartening to increase doses past the highest doses in the past. You've seen the ups and downs, and now, because of her circumstances, everything has changed. Her doses are higher, and she really hasn't yet gotten past the P-titis. My heart goes out to you both. Hang in there. You will both overcome these obstacles in time....physically for Miss Butters and emotionally for you.....probably longer than you would have ever thought. Like, starting over. I sincerely hope and pray that there is no underlying condition, and if there is, it is found soon.
I was initially disheartened for sure. I needed some time to mourn the loss of pre-pancreatitis playful Butters and the tight regulation I'd worked so hard for and was so lucky to achieve. Other people work just as hard as I do to get their cats tightly regulated and they have yet to achieve it. I am grateful I had it with butters for five weeks.

Yes I've had to literally redefine her starting point and goals. I came to terms with this over the weekend. :joyful: I don't look in the rearview mirror anymore in regards to insulin needs. Maybe because I've never had a goal of remission for her, so I don't really care if I have to give her .5u or 3u or more to get her regulated. It would be great if I could get her below 300 consistently as a first step.

Patience pants, cardigan sweater & t-/sweatshirts really needed right now....and some especially good thoughts to Butters to let her heal in her own way in her own time. And I know you give her lots of love and understanding.

This from a major complainer when I had to increase.

I hope If I am ever in these circumstances, you will copy & send this to me. Sending Miss Butter major strokes & skritches, and to you.....

Thank you, Linda. This is a very thoughtful, touching message.:bighug::bighug: I'm doing everything I can for Butters; some of it is up to her, though.
I hope you never need this message, but I promise to keep a copy just in case. :joyful:

Morning Lyla, you are doing the best you can, super mom.
I'm glad to hear Butters is doing well and if she needs more insulin for awhile
so be it. She must be happy that you have off this week. Have a good Lyla ♥:bighug::bighug::cat:

Congratulations Butters. You have earned yourself a poke break. :p

LOL. I am mainly working from home 80-90% of the time right now. She hasn't been hard done by...and yet she is very persistent this week. If I dare to stand up and get off the couch she digs her claws deep into my legs and refuses to vacate my lap. I have to peel her off of me. :blackeye:

Slide on down, Butters :cat: Sounds like she's living the perfect cat-life. Sounds very similar to my boys lives over here. I can very much relate to the throw-pillow analogy :joyful:

Have a wonderful day, Lyla :bighug:

Oh my God that is too funny, maybe you can buy one of those things that mother's put on and put their infants in on their chest :p

Perfect attitude. Neko's "good dose" went from 8.75 units to down to 0.75 units, up to 7.0 units and back down to 0.25 units. The dose is whatever it needs to be. The important numbers are the BG's. Speaking of which, nice slide down today. :)

Those are some FABULOUS yellows I see! So happy you got some extra loud purrs out of her today. Hoping for her to continue sliding down safely for you, Lyla! Hope you're enjoying your time off so far :) :bighug:
