911 help!!

tested Logan at 7aM he measured 38 then i did it again and he was 32 using the relion prime did this within 5 min..logan is on prozinc.(this is before his amps) feeding him karo with ff turkey and giblets and ff chicken feast.. hes eating well,.. i don't get it.. why he's acting normal and eating but measured so low??

Thanks. I skimmed too fast. Wanted to make sure Sandy did not shoot.
Easy done, and wise call.

(If time is tight I always look first for the meter type then go back to check the insulin once I know that any necessary intervention has been put in motion.)

That's a bit of an overload but fine at this point in the cycle The idea behind keeping them hungry is that they will eat if you need to keep feeding if the numbers are not coming up.
Please confirm that Logan has not had any Prozinc since last night.
he had 1.5u of prozinc last nite pmps 740pm calif time(+11?). he ate plenty this AM 2.5 cans and i added karo

The 184 is the karo and food.
Do not feed and test again in 20 minutes. Need to see if Logan is going up or going down.
In the meantime, I'll look to see if there are some experienced Prozinc users around.

I think I'd plan on skipping this morning....he'll go higher, but with all the food and Karo, it'll be at least 2 hours before you could shoot (since we'd want a Pre-shot test without any food influence) and that would put you at a later shot schedule.

You still need to test a few more times this morning to make sure that he stays up after the food wears off, but once he's up and staying up without any more interventions, you could take a break in testing until maybe +11 so you have some time to decide what dose to shoot tonight (at least going down to 1.25.....maybe even 1U)

A pet meter reads glucose differently than a human meter. It's comparing apples and oranges. Both meters work and are closer together on the lower numbers and farther apart on the higher numbers. There is no magic formula to convert numbers from a human meter to a vet meter. (The AlphaTrak strips are crazy expensive btw. If your vet insists, tell them that you can't afford the strips on a regular basis.)

If you want to do a check on your human meter to see if it is working properly, test yourself. The same numbers range applies. Since you did two readings (38/32), I think your Relion is working fine.
