Good morning! :coffee: Yesterday we had a good day with a little dip in the lows in the morning but nothing dramatic. Was able to get away for some hours in the afternoon to pack my apartment. Amazing what one accumulates living somewhere for 6 years. :p Was able to purge a lot so that felt good. Late last night, with Wendy's help, I decided to chill out about Ruby's eating and to keep weighing her to make sure she's ok.

Today began with an increase from 1.25 u to 1.50, and a total scarf and barf. Refilled the bowl with the same and she ate it all up again. Happy that she likes her new food.

Healing thoughts to all of the sick kitties and hugs to you beans who love them so. Have a great start to the week, everyone! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Glad Ruby likes the new food :cat: Good luck with the increase - surf safely, Ruby :D

I always think moving is stressful yet cathartic all at the same time. Have a wonderful day, Katherine :bighug:

Just reading your thread from yesterday. I love conversations about food and feeding.:joyful:

I aim to to keep Butters weight around 9.5 lbs. She fluctuates 1/2 pound either way and I'm fine with that. I feed her 160 calories per day, mainly based on her activity level (she has the same activity level as a throw pillow). When she is stuck in numbers above renal threshold, I feed her a little more than that to compensate for body using the calories inefficiently.

Best of luck with the new dose!
Have a great day, Katherine.

+2 = 75. I'm gonna call her "Ruby the Deep Sea Diving Cat" from now on as every shot seems to lead to drop. Gave her a spoon of LC mixed with MC to slow her down.

I'm so keen to hear how much other people feed their sugar cats! Thank you for sharing, Lyla. Ruby's big boned, so she's a little over 11 lbs and the vet said to keep her under 12. She was around 16 lbs before DKA, so now she's at an ideal weight and I want to keep her that way. It's a little insane to follow feeding instructions on pet food packaging, i.e., feed 1 oz per 1 lb. weight per day. That's a lot of food! It messes with me psychologically because then I think Ruby isn't eating enough, there must be something else wrong with her, etc. etc., but I forget that a) she's old by cat standards and b) she pretty much only gets up off the couch or bed to eat or use the litter box.
