I was thinking about when I react to the lower numbers, 60’s etc, with mc food. Is it time to let her go lower before I give higher carb food? Not sure when or when not to, do this but keep her safe. Do you know what I mean? :cat:

Personally, I'd do it in a 1/2 hour to be on the safe side. I'm still relatively a newbie but I think it's always best to air on the side of caution with such a big drop and she's still early for her nadir.

Your cats are beautiful. Thank you for your responses. Milo is doing so well, my hope is for Dolly's spreadsheet to look like that and hopefully return to remission. Great job to both of you. :):cat:
 
Dolly is 162@+2. Hope it's okay to go to bed, she will have lc to graze on throughout the night (until fasting time). We are all still tired.:):cat: I wish she wasn't so unpredictable. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
That is quite a drop by Dolly's standards for a PM+2. If you cannot stay up - and that's perfectly understandable - you could feed her some of that 10-11% carb food that you have. Will keep her from going too low.

I knew I couldn't do that, it's why I'm still up.

I just gave her some fresh food but she’s not eating it, she ate great earlier, pre shot & post shot, but it’s been about an hour and a half. I’ll see where she’s at in 40 minutes. Thanks for catching that in case I didn’t but I don’t take my phone in the bedroom so, doesn’t matter now, I decided to stay up for at least one more test. We have a landline for emergencies and what I prefer to talk on. Thanks for your caring and support.

The irony is that they will gobble down and food and want more when they are in high numbers, but turn their nose up at it when they are low and we want them to eat. That's the way it is with Bandit. :rolleyes:

Will she not eat food from the fridge even after it is at room temperature? That's what I do for my civvie. I pull it out a couple of hours before I need to give it to her, so that it's room temperature when it's time to feed her. I know someone who microwaves the food to bring it to room temp - not sure if that is okay to do. In any case, I don't want my microwave smelling of cat food. :confused:

I used to microwave her food all the time. She would never finish more than half a can. Microwave never smells like cat food. The problem is having food for her early morning, food will have been out by then way too long. I leave food out when I go to bed then change it out about 1 in the morning with new food (Dr Elsey’s was in the picture until a month or so ago). I’m going to test her now.

she is at 81. She wanted to play not get poked. She moved her head and I hurt her, sore spot. She was rippling her back, what does that mean? Just gave her different food, not interested.
 
81 is still a good number but she'll probably drop another 20 points or so. Going by her SS. There's nothing she will eat? Not even a spoon of that 11%? Its a little late in the cycle for higher carbs, but its better than her not eating.

I think its now safe to assume that is she's flat or lower at PMPS+2, a little snack of higher carbs (11%) is in order. Will save these steep drops later in the cycle and might even reduce the bouncing.

She “gobbled” a spoon of 12%, she didn’t do great with the 11% that I have last time I gave it. It used to be all she would eat. I will check her in 12 minutes, +5. Thank you for reminding me about the PMPS +2.
 
Think she should be fine now. From tomorrow try feeding a tsp or two of 12% at PMPS +2 - IF she is flat or lower.
