Happy new month everyone! :bighug:
I woke up to a yellow AMPS which made me really happy!
But I want to ask something.
When she is not very hungry and eats less, should I leave the bowl down for a while or should I take it until it 's time for the next meal? Today for example, she ate only 60 of the 100 g she normally eats in the morning. I withdrew the bowl because I realized it was not going to eat. But what if she ends up eating less at the end of the day? Thank you :)

Beautiful Sunny Start.

I would take it up, she may not have been as hungry because her BG is lower this morning,
Maybe offer it to her a little later on, in 30min or 1 hour.
if she has an active cycle she may well feel hungrier and you may find she will eat hungry.

I'm glad she is eating.

Well she is having a sunny am cycle, looks quite flat.
Some cats have a flat yellow cycle just before they have an active one, so tonight might be the night. (don't tell her I told you that)

If she doesn't see any green tonight, you may want to think about taking the dose up to 2u tomorrow morning. Though if she gives you a blue amps I would hold the dose at least one more cycle.

Basically in TR we ask ourselves, 'Is this dose giving me nadirs that are in the normal range for a healthy cat?'
Though she has done very well on this dose, with those flatter cycles and plenty of blue, her nadirs are higher than those of a healthy cat.

From the guidelines for TR
Increasing the dose:
  • Hold the dose for 3 - 5 days (6 - 10 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are less than 200 before increasing the dose by 0.25 unit.
    • if your cat is new to numbers under 200, it is recommended to hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles before increasing.
    • when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.
  • Increase by 0.25 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 200, but less than 300.
  • Increase by 0.5 unit after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are greater than 300.
She's been in quite a bit of blue over the last couple of weeks, so I don't consider her to be new to blue numbers. So as long as you can monitor tomorrow, she doesn't see any green tonight, and as long as amps is yellow or higher I would take the dose up tomorrow morning.
A more conservative approach would be to hold on for 8 cycles, if you were not able to monitor as much as you do, then that would perhaps be more suitable.

Now we see if Chnoudi accepts the challenge?:cat:

You caught me! Ι was reading again the TR methodology right now! The truth is that, this is exactly what I see...!! It's obvious. I have to increase again. I don't know why, but I have a "prejudice" and I get upset every time this happens. Although I know it's wrong. I saw green numbers at 1.25 and I was encouraged but obviously diabetes does not make sense and you should not take anything for granted.

FD can be frustrating. For most it’s a marathon rather than a sprint. That’s why patience pants are passed around a lot here. It’s hard not to have our emotions go up and down with the bg readings. Think about how she is acting, the 5 p’s and less about the numbers. Easier said than done. She’s very new to FD. The flat yellows most often led to an active cycle for Max.

Yes I understand. And thank you so much for the support, it is important for me to share all this, with people who have gone through or are going through the same thing. My mood had always a lot of ups and downs, this is my character :p, and I guess a superior force brought me to diabetes. Maybe as a lesson to become a better person!
Fortunately I am lucky that Chnoudi is well, she looks healthy and with her help of @Gill & George we changed the food program and she has already gained 200 gr!!! :bighug::)

I thought you might be an takes one impatient pet parent to recognise another. :D

Don't worry about the size of the dose, she needs what she needs. I remember bthat it's mentally tough to go up in dose.

You are doing a great job!

I found it helpful to think of regulation, for George, and I focused on getting him regulated as quickly and safely as possible, TR can do that for you.

Chnoudi will hopefully decide that she wants to hop on her surf board and stay init.
