He tested at 87+6 for his regular meal.

Since I didn't shoot this morning until 9:30 I'm an hour behind schedule. Can I shoot 15 minutes early every 12 hours to get back to 8:30?

You can shoot 15 early every cycle or 30 one time and then 15 after 24 hours. So 30 early tonight and then 15 early tomorrow night or 15 three times.

You can either move both injections back 15 minutes each day, or move one of them back 30 minutes in a single 24-hour period.

Thanks

Well Blue is eating again like he previously did.
He should probably be getting subQ fluids. I have experience doing that but I guess they want me to keep bringing him back. :(

Glad to hear that Blue's appetite is better now, Patty. Keep an eye on whether or not his appetite weakens when the dose of pain meds wears off and let your vet know if there's any correlation as that would make your case that Blue did need pain meds over the weekend.

Can't advise on the sub-qs because I've never given them. I used to keep Saoirse hydrated by adding a lot of light chicken broth (poaching liquor) to her food. When she had her first - really bad - flare, our vet said I did well to keep her properly hydrated so that she didn't need hospitalisation.

The vet called but my phone silenced the number for some reason.
She left a message but I'm still not ready to speak to them.
I also don't want to burn bridges before finding someone I can work with.
I'm not happy being in the situation with an ailing cat.

I know. I've been upset all day. It's Blue that is suffering.

I gave him a second dose of the Gaba tonight. He's 115 PMPS and eating some I/D with a little Friskies pate on top. I didn't get him dosed until 9:15 so will try for 9:00 in the morning.

I'll test in an hour +1

I'm just grateful you had something in the house to help Blue. I think it's so wrong that they didn't give you something for pain relief on Saturday, and today's response just added insult to injury.

(((Blue)))

I had a similar incident recently when one of the vets at our practice wouldn't sanction a dose increase for Lúnasa's BP med because "she's <our main vet>'s patient". Lúnasa is a patient of the practice! Not only that, I'd emailed in a link to her spreadsheet and all he needed to do was glance at the graph to see her BP was hitting dangerous levels and also that she'd had the higher dose before but I'd had to reduce it while she was on the antibiotic. Like yourself, I had to take matters into my own hands. Thankfully I had the tablets at home. The following day our main vet said that he was "perfectly happy" for me to increase the dose. I wonder how much covid is playing into things. I never had a response like this from the practice before, you just dealt with whoever was working on the day.

Covid should not cause this kind of lack of care. If Patty had not just been there Saturday it might make a bit of sense. Only a tad though because Blue was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis and hospitalized with lots of labs. Pain medication should have been offered when she was there. I’m just glad the gabapenton is helping him.

I have no issue with a vet not being willing to prescribe for a patient they haven't examined for some time. I have a major issue with a practice who won't prescribe for a patient who was seen less than 48 hours earlier for the condition in question. Grrrrrr...

That's why I'm so mad. He was just in to them on Saturday and I called Monday morning. It's just not the way to handle their patients.
Blue is very relaxed thanks to the Gaba so I'm happy I had it for him.
He's at 142 +2

Blue is 123 +3

I wasn't going to feed anything, but changed my mind and gave him just a little of the 16% Meow Mix. I didn't want him to drop to fast if he is going to drop.

Blue's depot does seem quite full - going by his numbers in the last couple of days. But his SS looks so much better now without all those ugly blacks and reds!
Maybe Elise can advise about shaving the dose.
