Good morning! :coffee:

Yesterday, Ruby was trying her new dose on for size and from I can tell this morning, it's a great fit.

This morning she was very hungry because I did not put any more food in her bowl beyond +2 last evening so she was meowing, pacing all over me in bed and head butting me while purring like crazy. Am going to try a new feeding regime where I am feeding her ¼ can every hour until +4 during the day, and the same until whenever I go to bed, either +3 or +4 in the evening. We'll see if her numbers react.

Also, am receiving powdered slippery elm today and would love to hear if any of you have had experiences using it with your cats for constipation. Have been using Miralax and I think she needs a higher dose but I don't want an osmotic laxative to be a long term solution. Over the past few days I can tell it's making the poor girl a little miserable.

Have the most beautiful day everyone! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Ruby is looking really good. Nice AMPS. :D
As far as constipation goes, have you ever tried pure pumpkin for her? Not the pie filling, just pure pumpkin. I give Jazzy some with every meal, just mix it in his food. Maybe about 1/4 tsp or so. I don't measure it. It works for both constipation and diarrhoea, strangely enough :)
Have a great day :)

Have indeed tried pumpkin and Ruby can smell it in her food, even 1/4 tsp, and walks away. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Very nice start:D Ruby has her green bikini on and is heading for the surf. Just stay out of the shark infested waters little girl.:)

I was a bit worried this morning when I didn't see any more tests after the 75 last night. She probably surfed nicely all night, maybe I would have got a test an hour or 30 minutes after that 75, you want to know that they have levelled out, and are not continuing to drop.

Good luck with the food experiment. (I love a food experiment:oops::)) For some cats it can make a dramatic difference and change patterns that you may have got used to, so you will need to stay on your toes.

Hi Gill! I know I should have gotten it. But between having slept 5 hours the night before and an exhausting day of packing and getting rid of furniture (I am moving out of my apartment in two weeks), I needed a night of not being the perfect sugar cat mama. I'm shifting her shot schedule so that we will start earlier in the day so I can have more time at night in the future for monitoring.

Thank you so much for encouraging me with the food routine. I'd love less drama, fewer deep dives, not more, but we shall see! The big goals for me are to keep her a little hungry early in the cycles and also for her to get the calories she needs to maintain her weight.

+4 = 73. She's flattening out and just took a few more mouthfuls of her final meal of the day. Do I need another test or can I go to bed?
