Insulin: When to start?

How long did you wait to give insulin? CJ is drinking a lot of water and going through a pancreatitis flare. She's been on prednisone for awhile but the vet doesn't see a reason to put her on insulin until her numbers are higher.

Hi Cat Ma,

If CJ's drinking that much then it sounds like she's over the renal threshold for much (all?) of the time, in which case she is unregulated and should be on insulin. Obviously this is partly conjecture without any data to look at. Have you been checking her BG at home? If yes, any chance of putting some data into her spreadsheet so that members might make better suggestions?

Hi there the reading you have are in the wrong cell for PMPS , you put them in the U cell which means how many units of insulin you would give, they should be in the
PMPS cell

Same if you test in the morning put them in the AMPS cell :cat:

Are you testing with a pet meter or human meter?
