Happy Thanksgiving, Patty. :)

Wonder whether this morning's AMPS might have a wee bit of a boost in response to the run of greens yesterday? After all your sterling work over the last couple of days I hope you managed to get some refreshing sleep last night - eventually! ;)

Only a 22-point food bump, Patty.

Really glad to hear you managed to get some proper sleep. :bighug:

Noodle's up and down: some days really good, some days scary. Getting her to eat enough is becoming more difficult, and I had another scare this morning when her heart rate dropped lower than the normal range. :( It's a worry because, in addition to the CKD, Lúnasa has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

I'm struggling: the roller coaster is getting to me. I hate being this powerless and it exacerbates my physical/mental health problems.

PS: Both the CKD and the heart issues can adversely affect appetite so I don't know what's the main driver.

Oh Mogs. I can feel your pain. It's so hard having a cat so ill. I have been through a few and it's never easy.
Noodle also is pretty young to have serious issues. I'm sure you are doing everything you can.
You will figure it out, but try to not worry to the point it affects your health. :bighug:

That ship has well and truly sailed, Patty. :(

Prior to the last week of July she was absolutely flying it, other than that a few weeks earlier she had started to poop once every 2 days instead of daily. What gets me is the difference in her in the space of just a few short months. The thing that really gets me is that on her good days she's really good. Because she clearly can be 'herself' then it must be something I'm doing wrong that means she's not like that every day. I'm failing her. :'( (((Noodle)))

Lúnasa hit early IRIS stage II a couple of years ago. She's now stage III. The HCM dates to early 2017, a sequela of hyperthyroidism (apparently not uncommon).

Bit miffed with my vet. Got the printout of her latest round of bloods. When he was giving me the headline results over the phone he didn't mention that the Noodle's blood glucose level was 8.8 mmol/L!!! The upper bound of the feline reference range as measured on a lab analyser is 8.3!!! It's possible that it's just due to stress hyperglycaemia, but in all her recent blood work her BG was in the range 4.7-5.2 so I know that vet stress doesn't normally elevate her BG into diabetic numbers. I think I need to dig out Saoirse's Alphatrak.

I'm still worried about her pancreas - doubly so after the latest BG result. I know that her recent Spec fPL was negative but the fact remains that she eats better when she's given pain relief. Also, the CKD food is higher in carbs than her previous GI support food so that's putting additional strain on her pancreas.

Was trying to find some info on Prozinc just now and in one of the group's stickies it lists both renal insufficiency and heart disease as possible contributors to insulin resistance. :(

Nice PMPS. Blue’s spreadsheet is looking so great these days!!!

I know.:bighug: It’s so hard not being able to see family right now. I hope you were still able to have a nice thanksgiving and I hope you get to see your mom soon.

Thank you. I didn't think i would ever see Blues SS in green and blue. I'm excited.

My mom lives with me downstairs in an in law suite she calls her apartment. She's 95 and there are 5 kids and many grands and great grands. She misses them all and she is so tired of staying in the house.
We did have a nice Thanksgiving. I'm just sad for her. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving day too.

LOL not yet but have learned a lot recently.

I fell asleep and Blue is at 65 +3 so I've given him 20% FF with gravy. I'm just not sure if he needs a drop of honey?

I know you have been experimenting with carb percentages to keep Blue surfing as long as possible. However, the board is quiet tonight. You must be exhausted from all your hard work with Blue and Turkey Day. And then there is the turkey coma to consider.

The drop of honey was a good idea.

You've got a Canadian team with you tonight but I don't know how much longer I can stay awake. I'll try my best though.
